CRS score - need advice

Hello everyone,

I need advice on what I can possibly do to increase my CRS score, even by just a bit. Based on the CIC calculator, I am currently at 434 points, and the past cutoff was in the 440s. I have written my IELTS exam, and my best and most recent mark was:

L: 8
R: 7.5
S: 7.5
W: 6.5

I understand that I can improve my score drastically by rewriting the exam to achieve 8-7-7-7, but I have written this exam 4 times and I simply cannot afford to rewrite it as it is quite expensive, nor can I achieve a writing score of over 6.5 (I have gotten 6-6.5 every time).

Some other info:
- I have completed 1 year of work in Canada (NOC B - Cook), and have already received a job description letter for it
- I have completed a 2 year college program in Canada (I am 21)
- I have been in Canada for 8 years

My post graduation work permit expires in the fall of 2019, and thus I only have about a year to improve my score before I have to go back to my home country.

Is there any way for me to improve my score in this time frame (other than the IELTS)? Any help is greatly appreciated, I can provide more info if needed.

The only option I see is to re-write IELTS.

Dear when did you appear for IELTS the last time? If it is with in last 6 weeks time frame from that test date , then I strongly suggest that you should go for EOR on your writing score. I am very hopeful that you will get 7 in that category after your writing test will be re evaluated.

I hope you will easily cross 450 score if that 0.5 band increase occurs in your writing exam.

Best of Luck.
Regards.

Well, you should try for CELPIP, I have seen some people achieved a high score in writing module.

You should request a re-mark on the writing module if it hasn’t been more than 6 weeks since your test date.
