According to the recent trend, your score is really low. I would recommend try to get all CLB 9's at least. It is not an easy task but trust me it is not impossible. Try taking English language classes. Also, try to see if you are eligible for any enhanced nomination program. Best of luck

I strongly suggest you to retake IELTS and score min. band scores L8,R7,W7,S7
and once you have these min. scores, then your CRS will increase by atleast 58 points from your existing score.

For Ontario,we should have atleast 400+ points :( :(.

We dont have anyother option other than retaking IELTS

:(
Well, you do have few additional options, I.e:
- get additional degree (or higher degree, or Canadian degree).
- get more work experience or Canadian work experience.
- learn French
- make yourself younger 8)
- get job offer (LMIA, NAFTA, ICT)
- get PNP

But... the easiest one is still to retake IELTS

Theres nothing else you can do now but retake IELTS. You already know that...

Your score is too low to get an ITA. Retaking IETLS is the easiest option for you, the others will take longer time.

Why don't you try revaluation for your speaking scores? If you are planning to retake, Since you are borderline CLB9 in all the other sections, please do practice really well so that you cross CLB9 comfortably in your next attempt.

Plenty of people have got .5 using revaluation, but you could still give a shot. If you don't have financial constraints and are keen on increasing your chances for PR, please try for re evaluation and schedule a retest in parallel. It would mean a little to be in the pool with this score, so you could afford to take some time out and come up with a better score with which you stand a chance through some route at least.

Do your IELTS again. And again. And Again. Till you get a CLB 9 minimum. See my scores below? I'm not a native speaker. Put your mind to it and you can get it. All you need is 1.0 more for speaking. You can do it!

While a strong command over English helps, its also about the cracking the technique! I don't think anyone can really improve their language skills overnight but getting the tips and tricks for IELTS really helps in scoring atleast an extra point over someone who has no idea about the exam format.

I've been watching a heap of videos about this. I actually think I failed some last time because I didn't bother with capital letters at the start of some things in listening (basically didn't realise that grammar was going to be marked during sentence completion). Another test next week. Hoping to bump me to all four CLB 9s and an extra 30 points :D

I recommend writing all answers in BLOCK. That's what I did. So then you don't have to worry about Capital letters. I read that tip in a IELTS Book I bought. Grammar matters EVERYWHERE! The sentence has to make sense grammatically in listening and reading so even if you get the right answer, if the grammar is wrong, its wrong. Spelling matters too. It sucks to get the right answer and then you lose out on poor spelling! All the best! :D

And here is a tip - Try and finish reading in 40-45 minutes.

Do the first 3 sections in 20 min. Take 20-25 minutes for the last section since that's the most difficult. Once you finish the exam in 40-45 minutes, it gives you time to look through all the answers and attack the ones you are not sure about. I got 2 right answers in the end ( which I had skipped earlier). It usually takes just one answer to move from a CLB 8 to CLB 9!

The first 3 sections, scan through it for the answers. No need to read it through. The answers will usually pop out if you have done enough test papers!

When I finished the first 3 sections in about 25 min, it eased off the pressure. Looking at the last section ( and only 10 questions to tackle) gives you a sense of relief that you are just 10 questions away and you have another 35 min more! You feel more relaxed.

Then I proceeded to study the paragraph. It was about some wild penguins in the north pole or something. I took 15 min to actually STUDY the section about penguins and didn't tackle it like an English exam. lol. I studied it like a geography/biology exam. lol. Once i finished studying the last sections, the 10 answers were like a breeze! Naming headings or choosing which paragraph had the answer or filling in the blanks became super easy! Giving yourself 35 min for the last section gives you the luxury of taking 15 min to study it properly! hehe

The last 15 minutes revision time really helps if you are gunning for a 40/40 on reading! Use that time to check spellings, grammar and re-look at the answers you werent sure about. As I said, I fixed 2 wrong answers in the last 15 minutes which I would have lost if I did not have time to revise. I finished the exam condident that I got a 40 on 40.

Remember, in reading, time management is everything.

I think i had a minute to spare and used that 60 - 90 seconds to look at other candidates and enjoyed the sadistic pleasure of watching them struggle. ;D
