CRS points-Sep 2016

Hi all,
We are an Indian couple looking to migrate to Canada. We approached some consultancies and they do not encourage to apply for Canada stating that CRS points is increasing and more chances are there only if we had worked/studied/got a job employment in Canada. Is it so?

Last draw which happened on Sep 21 saw the least score of 483 being picked up. Of late the cut off has been high. But there were times when the cut off went as low as 450. It all depends on the number of PNPs being issued and the IELTS scores (since many try to improve the bands) of the candidates in the pool at that point of time.

But you can always look to immigrate through PNP such as ON, NB, SK, etc.

Its BS, don't listen to them. If you're willing to work, it might take some time and hard work to get PR.

I know it was directed to me, but I went through all of it anyway. Here are my results.

CRS 431
IELTS - I haven't sit the exam yet, but I based my score calculations on the grades I'm confident I can get.

Highest level of education: Master Degree

Age: will be 34 when applying

Work Experience: +6 years of continuos full time job in a NOC 0

I'm hoping for the OINP Human Capital stream, but I'm not sure.

With CLB 10 you can get 454.

Thanks! Depending on my IELST score, mi partner might take the exam too so that we add those extra points. His English is not that perfect, but I believe we can get something additional.

Funny thing... I recalculate my points using the tool but not included my partner... my score was 454 :O :O :O

I've thought about it. I'm interested in NS, but they don't have my NOC as an Occupation in Demand. I was also looking at SINP, but I'm not sure if I want to live there, I think it's too far!

That is not incorrect. You really aren't going to have enough points to get out of the pool unless you have an LMIA, which is impossible. Go to school in Canada, get work permit, get Canadian experience, and then you might have competitive CRS scores.

Some of the posts above are really out of touch.

You can also try SINP or any other PNP as a matter of fact.

Most of those provinces require a connection to them or to go for an information session. I see it suggested often that people should go for PNPs but when looking through their requirements, with the exception of one or two, one must have a connection to them to qualify.

NSNP may (or may not) update their NOC list.

SINP - well, its still Canada.

Unless I got my math wrong, it is still possible to be invited in the Express Entry but only a select few will be qualified to do that because you need to be (1) under the age of 30; (2) have a near perfect IELTS score; (3) have masteral degree or better; (4) extensive work experience; (5) have Canadian experience.

Having a well-qualified spouse helps too but it's really hard to meet those criteria.

Things will not go any easier in the future either - that's the natural course of things in immigration so I'd say take your chances now while there are still some options left (provincial nomination, student visa etc)

most who were invited between 30-40 are with PNP nominations only...

i would strongly suggest you go for it... EE is quite straightforward and doesnt need consultants help... but if you do decide to hire, hire a good one...

besides, you can always ask for help on the forum... most of us are glad to help
