CROSSING BY AIR OR BY LAND & WHO THEY ASK QUESTIONS FOR

I am plan landing in July and I would like to have some people telling me their experience on landing coming from the US to Canada.

• I would like to know if are there any difference between crossing the border and flying in?

• Will the immigration officer only ask the questions to the primary applicant or for both the spouse and the primary applicant?

The reason I ask the second question is because I am the primary applicant but my spouse US visa has expired.

I landed my road on 17th june
It was good experience n officer didnt even ask for bank balance
It went good but officer told it would take 2-3month to get PR card, so that sounded long, now waiting for it

Does the Canadian immigration know she is in the US with an expired UV visa?

1. Crossing the border is cheaper for some people, but if you destination is more inland and not at the border cities then try flying in. If you think that you stay in one of the border cities then cross the border which is much easier and mobile.

2. They might ask but you tell the truth, there is nothing to worry about US visa/status as you are not entering USA - you are entering Canada and they are more concern about the PR visa not the US visa.

I wanted to say thanks to everyone for the Reponses, and to answer rascojenkins question, yes we were very honest with everything and the Canadian immigration knew that my spouse had an expired visa in the US, but because we were very honest about my spouse situation and because I was the primary applicant they accepted our explanation and gave us the visa.

That great news.Thanks for sharing I've come across alot of people both on this forum and in life who are always scared of applying for Canadian immigration thinking their none status in the US will hurt the application.Hope they learn from your post .Thanks again for sharing
