Thanks for the detailed replies and clarification on my issue.

I need to inform you that I have been applying for the jobs in Canada though my PR expired and am outside Canada. I have been contacted by some recruiters these days and they want to know my availability in Canada. The issue is they want Security Clearance Certificate from me. Is it possible for me to get security clearance certificate when I have pending decision in IAD? Is it wise to tell the recruiters/employers about my RO matter and case in IAD? I am serious about crossing the boarder if I get any job offer in Canada.

Seniors please advise asap.

I have a similar question. my friend had applied for their immigration 10 years back with her family and upon arrival they applied for their PR and health card. stayed there for a a few weeks but unfortunately due to some emergency they had to return back to their country. Now the problem is they want to visit canada but when they apply for a visa it gets denied. so the question is weather they can enter canada on their landing paper through the border considering they never recieved or collected their PR card to begin with?

If you have been in Canada for the for 2 years total out of the last 5, you have maintained your PR status and still considered a PR.
(I think the 2 out of 5 rule changed for the applicats applying after 2015 ?? so pls dont quote me if you have applied later than 2014!)

It does not matter if your PR CARD is expired or not. Your card is like a credit card, it expires, but your status does not.

You cannot enter canada in commericial vehicles (BOAT, COMMERCIAL AIRPLANE, BUS). But you can enter in private vehicles (Rented Car, Friend's car, private plane, bicycle?, on foot, horse (needs to have proper documentation))

Bring important documentation with you: Landing Paper (definitely), Your new card application status printout from eCAS website, etc...

KSA99- if you have a removal order, i am not sure how they would let you in again unless the entry was for you to appear at your appeal case.. especially if you say your case is weak. best to ask a lawyer.. If and when your PR is not in question you can try the land border.. sorry I dont have more information!

Want to enter Canada through Land Border as my PR Card is expired and I am in IAD appeal status. My hearing has not yet held.

I am just 64 days short of the requirement out of total 730 in 5 years time. My wife and children are already Canadian citizen. I have to attend the Orientation ceremony of my Child at Carleton University, Ottawa.

Request for your advise.

I am short of 100 days from my PR status obligation and I still need to travel back and forth to my home country because of some unavoidable reasons . My first question should I apply for renewal of PR card while I am still short of required days and second question is if my pr card renewal will not be accepted can I reapply after two years living with my Canadian spouse outside Canada when time comes . Thanks

No point in trying to renew if you are short of the RO. You will lose your PR. Is your PR card expired? That would make the chances of being reported much higher. If you get reported you will have to be sponsored again. If you avoid being reported you could eventually use the time with your spouse to renew your PR card.

What does you mean by reported as to my understanding Your PR card can expire but your PR status cannot expire until you voluntarily give up or Gov of Canada would revoke because of some criminal activity. My question was if your PR card once expires and you are living outside Canada with your Canadian spouse so after the completion of required time for PR renewal can you apply for renewal of PR being outside Canada.
