Yes Apply for them together. I did the exact same thing for my wife. It may take longer to process but it's way more fluid. You will get your "rehabilitation", it is pretty straight forward. My wife was almost in the exact same situation as you, and she provided all kinds of character references etc, but they didn't care, they just wanted to see the 5 year limit passed. It's a total waste of time and total money grab (rehab for your type of case is 200$ not 1000$). Also, as a Canadian, I apologize for this ridiculous rule that doesn't even allow you to visit Canada and see your family without waiting 5 years and filling out pointless paper work. It's embarrassing, we are the only country that are so rigid and draconian when it comes to this stuff. There is a reason that Canadian immigration forums are the only ones flooded with "inadmissibility" questions. If you go to American green card or UK spousal visa forums, if you ever see criminal inadmissibility, it's for things like assault, grand theft, or immigration fraud.
