It was assault and was giving community services no jail time hope that makes a difference read that can go against only if was a crime that could get up to 10 years in jail which it did not

It is ridiculous really that I will be separated from my family, my son and husband cause of 1 stupid mistake he made many years ago!! Will see what happens

I'm not commenting to your husband's situation but the basis of this policy is to prevent violent people and abusers in Canada from essentially being able to import victims. Not ridiculous.

He is being punished for assaulting a partner. You are being protected by public policy.

Unfortunately, this is the consequence of a decision to assault a partner, even if in hindsight it is called a mistake.

I was a student in Canada in 2016 but left the country without finishing my studies bcoz my mom passed away . I was in great pain and stress so I didn’t even think to withdraw from my school and now I need to get my Canadian police records done for my European residency and I’m scared this will show up there bcoz maybe my school reported me and cancel my visa and cic might thought I was in Canada without an status ( even tho I left 6 months before my visa expired) but since I didn’t tell my school Maybe the Canadian government didn’t know I left and so reported me to the police .

No one reported you to the police. You can apply for a police certificate without issue.
