Others can comment but your fathers status has no bearing on your study permit application. You are the one applying to study not your father.

do you think criminal record check is different for different applications? If someone does PR or lets say work permit application from outside canada, then would that person be needing two seperate criminal record check applications?
What I mean is: if someone does work permit application, then he might need PCC from outside canada. But if that perosn applied for PR later, would he need the PCC again? I ask this because in PCC forms, we need to put reasons like employment or PR. Do you think he/she would have to do two seperate applications? Please enlighten.))

No, you can use the same PCC's as long as they are valid. The 'reason' for issuing a PCC is irrelevant.

OK ty so much. Its just that the pcc rcmp form has multiple tick boxes? employment/immigration/etc

The result/process is the same, so it's irrelevant.
Also, the reason does not appear on the rcmp criminal record certificate.

okay so CIC wont check if the application was selected for PR or WP right? They would just look at the final report.
