hi all,

what is better way to pay fee: credit card or DD?

if applicant location has an impact on this decision: i am from Karachi, Pakistan

if your answer is DD - pls guide the way to get one prepared

thanks

regards

DD is the safest as CC can be snatched, misplaced, theft e.t.c. in Karachi or even transaction can be blocked by bank itself if you are not a regular user.

The easiest way to get a DD is from Money exchanger such as wall street or it can be made via NBP too.

Hii

I will say to go for CC bcz by CC u cn get information tht ur fee is charged and the same you cannt check with DD. But plz note do not lose your cerdit card, In that case u dohav to block your CC. Also note do not upgrade ur cc unless ur fee is charged.

But if u have any doubt then go for DD simply.

Best of luck.

DD is the safest.

Having faced tough experiences, with credit cards, my consultant PROHIBITED me to pay by card.

You can get it from Wall Stree money exchange. They have multiple branches in Karachi. One is in Gulshan.

You can get info about the DD from the issuing authority i.e bank.

thanks everyone. so majority is in favor of DD. in that case, I have a couple of questions:

1) is there a way to find out that your DD has encashed?

2) in case your DD is returned, can your money be easily released?\

3) what is the validity of a DD?

regards.

1) is there a way to find out that your DD has encashed? You can query the bank. Some banks charge fee for this service.

2) in case your DD is returned, can your money be easily released? Yes, after deducting some amount.

3) what is the validity of a DD? varies from 3 to 6 months, ask to the provider.

1. Yes via issuing bank
2. May be service charges.. it might be same amount you paid at making it
3. 6 months if issued from Pakistan

Credit card is safest and quickest if your bank and card is good otherwise DD.

two applications submitted on the same date: one with CC and other with DD, will be considered same in terms of cap? I saw CC applications being charged early than DD. this is alright as long as cut off dates for CC and DD are same in a particular NOC. can someone please confirm?

We used CC, but for four long months I was constantly worried about CC fraud and the bank putting a lock on the account. Had to keep the CC in the safe and call the bank every once in a while just to be sure everything was ok. If I were doing it again, I would go with DD.
