Hello,

Can anyone please help in providing differences in different credentials provided by Canadian colleges.

Ontario Graduate Certificate / Advanced Diploma / Diploma

Which should be done after what level of study from India?

Indian Agents suggest any of three can be done after graduation degree from India. Please clarify?

Colleges in provinces other than Ontario offer post graduate and post baccalaureate diplomas but in Ontario, they’re called Ontario graduate certificate and they usually are of 1 years duration. Diplomas or advanced diplomas are UG not PG so they’re opted by students who graduate from high school. Diploma is a UG program which is of 2 years and advanced diploma is a just a small step up from diploma(just a few more courses and duration can vary).

Hello Karan,
Thank you for the reply,

Exactly my point for Ontario province only, there are many colleges who are offering even 2 years of Graduate Certificate program which are equivalent to PGDM and they are not equivalent to Diploma programs offered by the same colleges?

Many agents in India say they are the same after graduation, you can opt for any of them.

Nope! On paper graduate certificate of 2 years has more credential than a UG diploma. You can choose a ug program nonetheless but that increases the chance of rejection as it’s a step down from bachelors degree(which I assume you have). So if you’re choosing a program you can do after graduation, then choose Ontario graduate certificate because it makes more sense. Agents like to confuse students, I’d advice you to research this stuff yourself. Find a program that’s suitable according to your career and interest. If you’re looking for proper post graduate programs go for colleges in BC
