CRA Notice of Assessment instead of 24 paystubs good?

CEC applicant.

For a Canadian job, will it be sufficient to provide CRA Notice of Assessment or T4 for say 2021 instead of giving 20-24 paystubs for that year showing exactly the same total income? Do I need to provide both?

The earnings were not equal every month and in some months there was no earning as there was no work (this was a part-time position).

Why would you provide any of them? Are they in the list of the required documents?

My understanding from reading through many posts in this forum and elsewhere is that we need to provide as many evidences as we can (in addition to the reference letter) to prove our work experience.

So I just found this and I think pay stubs should be provided in the absence of T4s and NOAs.

Principal applicants are requested to provide documentary evidence of their work experience in Canada through a combination of: a copy of their most recent work permit (unless they are work-permit exempt), copies of their most recent T4 tax information slips and Notice of Assessment (NOA) issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or a sufficient combination of other supporting documentation, and employer letters of reference for all periods of qualifying work experience claimed in the application.

However, there is no obligation under the regulations that CEC applicants provide a T4 tax information slip or NOA specifically with their application, and these particular documents cannot be considered conclusive evidence or the only evidence accepted for the purposes of substantiating whether an applicant has qualifying Canadian work experience. As such, in the absence of a T4 tax information slip or NOA, documents which may help substantiate the applicant’s work experience in Canada could include a record or letter of employment from the Canadian employer, work contracts and pay stubs.

If you insist on providing as many documentations as possible, I would go with paystubs, considering that T4 doesn't show your hours and shows only earnings. If you don't have paystubs, you can request them from your employer who is obligated to give them to you if the job was performed within certain number of years (I believe it's 6 in Canada).

I have a similar question but related to PR application under the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot. T4 and NOA are among the required documents to show 6 months of Canadian work experience. It says "You can also include any pay stubs, work contracts or job offers.". I've been employed for more than 6 months but my earnings on T4 and NOC are only for 5 months. Can I use my paystubs to show 6 months of employment even though paystub seems to be an optional document?
