CRA Identity Verification impacting 2023 taxes return

Hello, I filed 2023 taxes on February 29, 2024 and it still shows "In Process" with no target completion date. I called CRA many times and they had no update at all, just asked me to wait indefinitely.

Recently, I called CRA Identity Verification department on 1833-995-2336 and they said my account has been flagged for identity verification (btw, I would have never known this had I not called). So, I submitted the documents they asked more than a week ago and no updates since then.

Btw they also lock you out of your CRA online account while the verification is pending. Anyone is a similar situation? Is there anything I can do to expedite this process?

You got a long way to go. I submitted my documents online in the first week of April and I am still waiting

It sounds like the CRA’s identity verification process can really slow things down, especially when it’s not clear why an account gets flagged. Sometimes, the delay comes from CRA needing to verify specific details before they process your return.
