I have a question regarding to the Request for Passport step.

I am not a U.S. Citizen nor a U.S. Permanent Resident, but I have been studying and working in the U.S. for a few years and therefore CIC assigned my case in Ottawa. I am now following the same step with other U.S. applicants in this thread as well as that May Outlander thread.

I still have a Canada Tourist Visa (TRV) which is valid until May 1, 2016. I guess my case would be finalized before that day. I am wondering if I still have a valid TRV on my passport, will CIC request my passport to stamp another one-time Immigrant Visa for "entrance as a landing immigrant"?

I see lots of people who come from visa-exempt countries like U.S. or E.U. countries get their COPRs directly without being asked to mail their passports to CIC for a one-time Immigrant Visa. That means they come in as a "tourist" but "transfer" to be a landing immigrant when they pass the Customs.

Does anyone have the same situation with me? Do I expect to mail the passport for another single-entry immigrant visa?

A new week begins :(

Just checked ECAS and there is a new line #3. Medical received. It's been exactly 21 working days since we sent sponsor residence documents. Maybe few more months?

Just received a email requesting a payment for right for permanent residency. Its been a while but I am confident we paid the $550 and submitted the receipt with our entire application package back on April 2, 2015. I am thinking of paying the fee again and hope they refund the money back if I pay twice.

Has anyone else come across this type of situation?

Was it similar to the batch email everyone got on Friday Oct 23? Where it asks for more info on residence, right for permanent residence, medicals, etc?

If so, it's likely you can just respond that the payment was already provided. If possible reference your receipt number if you recorded it.

The Total amount due should be $1040

Both of you are correct. I called and cic confirmed that I had made payment of 550 and needed to pay the remaining 490 for the RPRF fees. We have paid it and mailed a copy of the receipt.

Am I getting close to the end?

I received the proof of residence email on September 22

For those of you who have received the batch email, did you or would you give CIC everything by replying that email?

Hi Confused987

I replied to this email a couple weeks ago attaching my original payment, I received a prompt email back stating that my original fee did not cover the right to permanent residence fee.

So we paid it, and now another round of waiting begins.
