Hi all! I am a new member here and an October 2014 applicant. This is such a roller-coaster journey! I check my online status every hour or so :( Waiting and waiting!!
Sometimes I get my hopes high when I see people receiving their DMs but still nothing for me.
Let's hope that Ottawa VO will process the September, October and November applicants by the end of this month!
But why, why the spousal applicants are not given a priority here in Canada?? Processing time should not exceed 6 months! Uncertain, long processing time could cause stress and depression in a relationship!! I miss working!

Come on Ottawa please!! Vamos Ottawa por favor!! Aller Ottawa S'il vous plait!! :)
All the best to all!

I have this issue on twitter right now!.. It is appalling! Kevin Ménard (Press secretary to Citizenship and Immigration Minister) already started following me. I guess I am on their radar now. lol

Look at the CIC operational manual (pdf) for outland family-class applicants. The "service standard" for spousal applications is indeed that 80% of applications should be processed within six months, however CIC has obviously not met its own target here for quite some time.

Couldn't agree more CookieM !!

Who would of thought that I actually MISSED working ?! ;)

They lost 533 pages of my application. So yeah, we aren't staying quiet or patient. Lol... It's time to get things moving for everyone waiting.

I used to think that being a housewife is fun, but for ME is not (anymore), I would rather work and bring home some bacon! :)

My exact sentiments Cookie. I'm going crazy not working! So over the housewife thing.

Hey Guys,

I just had a quick question. My fiancee and I are in the waiting part of the application (August 2014 we applied and got SA by September).

Just was hoping someone could answer this; Once the decision has been made and I've, hopefully, been approved, do I have to give CIC my actual passport or just a copy of the identification page in order to complete the application. We're planning to travel a bit just before we land.

Many Thanks,

Tollah

Hi guys,

Questions for you please; My medical certificate expires mid-July (next month), does it mean that Ottawa VO might ask me for another medical certificate soon? OR it is highly likely that I will receive a DM before expiring date? Oh I hope I don't have to do another medical reassessment because that will mean another approx.$300 out of our pocket! :(

Also, are there any Quebec applicants here? Have you sent your QSC certificates to CIC yet? Apparently an email was received to request for my QSC in error, since then no genuine email received from CIC requesting my QSC. When CIC request a QSC how long will it take roughly to receive a DM?

Thanks

If your from a visa exempt country then you don't need to send your passport. They may ask for a photocopy of the details page but thats all.

They may or may not ask for another medical, it depends where you are residing but if you are from what they class as a 'low risk country' in terms of transmittable diseases they usually will grant an extension to your medical but its at the discretion of the officer processing your case. Given you are an October applicant hopefully you will get DM by July!

If you are not already in Canada remember your COPR is linked to your medical date. We got COPR beginning of May and my medical was due to expire on 26/06 - they gave us a two week extension.

Sorry I haven't a clue about the QSC!
