michellestella said:We got our gcms notes yesterday and it's as we suspected, the only problem is our class of sponsorship (conjugal). I am so mad at my immigration 'consultant' for counselling us to apply that way. Our solution at this point is to get married and convert the application to a marriage one. Hopefully the officer will see it and just continue processing (that's what the operations manual says they're supposed to do), but with our luck, it'll get flagged again.
Yes, indeed. Conjugal is a very problematic category and the rejection rate is rather high. If they don't convert, you have the option of appealing to the IAD - that's a de novo hearing anyway, and they would take a change of status (e.g., married versus conjugal). So it's just a matter of time.
