Has anyone here ever tried contacting CPC And received a reply about their application?
I have recently emailed to confirm reception of docs and wondering if I will get a response.
If you have, please share you experience. Thanks in advance

I have, and they replied back to me a couple days later saying they put the documents with my file. They usually reply within 1-6 days.

we never got a response from our email. we snail mailed the document and sent an email. my husband was told by CIC yesterday it takes about 3-4 weeks for a document to be attached to the original application.

That's very odd! I sent a package with extra documents, sent an email 3 days later and they replied 4 days later saying
"Your documents have arrived and were placed in your application."

maybe it depends what stage of the process you are at? we haven't even gotten SA yet... forgot a form in our package. just will keep holding my breath and make my husband call every week until we hear something. the last thing i want is for them to send our application back after the 45 day grace period they have given us.

Oh I see my application had been in Ottawa for a month and I emailed Ottawa. You emailed Mississauga right?

Zarilenth, same for us. They signed for documents on a Friday, my husband emailed them on the Tuesday, they responded on the Friday saying they received them.

just got my passport requested from cpp ottawa two days ago, i sent it by xpresspost and it arrived today, any idea how long it takes? i'm planning to go on a trip to the US in a couple of weeks.

also, this is my first post on this forum, i still can't figure out how to set my profile and signature, any help would be appreciated

I want to share some interesting info that may be helpful for newbies...

I had a really tough time getting into contact with my MP's office a couple of months ago. I recently got into contact with them again and found out CRUCIAL information.

In a nutshell, our app was missing a stat declaration for common law union. I sent it in via email, but did not send the original (the email requested a scanned copy only). Two weeks after I send it in, my MP's office contacting me to send the original ASAP. If they hadn't told me this info, I would be hopelessly waiting for an answer from CPC-O.

Lesson learned - become very close with your MP office contact!!!

It may save me months of processing time (considering I am already at 11 mos.)

Congrats!! can't tell you how long it takes seeing that the times vary quite a bit sometimes. Maybe you could send them proof of your upcoming trips to see if they will speed it up?

Also, you need to have at least 10 posts before you can change your signature I believe. When did you initially apply?

You might not get a reply... We had a request for additional doc's in January which we submitted by snail mail, we emailed them to let them know they were sent and never got a reply. We emailed again earlier this month to ask about the status of our app and got a whole lot of silence in return. I'm honestly amazed that people do get a response from CIC.

You sent them your actual passport or a copy of it? When did you send in your application?
