Checked ECAS Friday afternoon and application was still "in process" but then checked today and it had changed to "decision made" (we think it probably changed on Friday right after we checked it)...

When we sent my passport info (email attachment) we got an automated response which stated:

We have received your email sent to the Case Processing Pilot – Ottawa (“CPP-O”) and will respond to it shortly if:

(amongst other reasons):

You send us information we have requested

We never got another response...and if there was some problem or it somehow got misfiled, it was 3 months ago when we sent it to them and on the ppr it stated that we had 2 months to respond...so now we are fretting that perhaps there was some problem in the transmitting of this email and that their decision is "DENIED" for the reason of our lack of response in sending the passport information, which we did send. Do they normally send that response (beside the automated response) to inform the applicant that the passport information was received? Or is it normal that they skip that step in their communications with applicants? I do wish they made these things clearer to understand. It would help to alleviate alot of anxiety.

Congrats on the decision made. I am sure it was a positive one as CIC has waived the interview requirement. You should be receiving your COPR documents in the mail shortly. You're almost Done!

NicAnn, Congrats! I don't think there is any reason to worry. I also received and automated response and when I sent my PPR, and got an automated response. I haven't heard anything from them in 7 weeks, and from the sound of it other people took 12 to 14 weeks to have the status changed to decision made and receiving COPR. I'm sure you'll be getting something in the mail soon :) The waiting game is so tedious though I know!

On ECAS my status still says "application received" it has never switched to "in process" however they requested my passport and received it 7 weeks ago. Is that normal will it just go straight to "Decision Made" ?

Hmmm, it makes me wonder why we have ECAS if thing don't even get updated in real time :-X

Also, how long does Ottawa normally keep passports for?

Our changed to "application received" about a month before we got ppr then about two months after ppr it changed to "in process". We only had to send in copy of picture page of passport, did as an attachment on email (which they said was admissable on their instructions to us).

Today I checked my status in ECAS and it changed to "In Process". It has been "Application Received" since July of 2013. At least we know they are working on June now. :-)

HELP

I've been surfing this site ever since my US common law partner applied for PR on May 30, 2013. Up until now, I have waited very patiently. I am beginning to worry about the application b/c the ECAS status has not changed from App Received and we have not received the PPR. My partner is on a work permit expiring March 19, 2014.

1. How do I find out what the status of the app really is?
2. Will he be able to apply for an Open work permit if he does not receive his PR in time?
3. Any other recommendations/suggestions/etc.?

Thank you so much in advance!

ECAS rarely changes and is not dependable. My guess is that you are close to getting PPR if you applied outland, so hang in there for another month. There's no OWP for Outland applicants. If you applied Inland you have to wait for AIP which takes about 10 months

HI everyone, hope everyone is having a good week. I have added the 3 new people who asked to be added to the spreadsheet. Please check that your information is correct and send me a private message if it is not correct. Good luck to all, I hope we get some movement this week!!

Does anyone here know....is it possible to land and do a reverse "flagpole"? I still have a job and apartment here in the states, so I would like to "land" first and then go back and finish my 2 weeks notice at work and time to clear out my apartment, etc. Has anyone else done that here? Is it ok to land and go back to finish up all that other business before making a complete landing? Or should I get all the other stuff done prior to landing?

Absolutely fine to do so. :)
