Yep, there's a thread of the bunch of us, feel free to join us :) The spreadsheet is down, will be working on it tomorrow :)

Ok thanks you. I had no idea a spreadsheet existed for LA. How long does it normally take from Ottawa transfer to LA to get PPR or COPR? I can't check it because as you said the spreadsheet is down.

I don't know that anyone has kept track of the transfer time. Transfers from Ottawa to LA (and vice versa) are not really frequent enough (at least in our data samples) to provide meaningful guidance.

What does this mean

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:

Ø Provide evidence of adequate financial arrangements for care and support (not involving social assistance) that are in place for yourself in Canada. This may include, but is not limited to, paystubs, employment letters, and tax documents including the most recent 2012 notice of assessment (T4 & NOA) for both you and your sponsor. This must be received at this office by: 2013/08/25

You need to provide that you have the means to take care of yourself in Canada without receiving welfare if they approve you. Bank stubs, tax documents, joint bank account that you have access to, potential employment in Canada if approved and other financial means between you and your sponsor to support you while in Canada. They won't allow you to have PR if you and/or your sponsor cannot financially sustain you so you have to prove it to them.

ok.

I am the sponsor. my husband is the Applicant applying from U.S.A

I am currently full time in College so I receive OSAP funding. as well I work part time which only give me a few 100 bucks extra monthly.

My husband does have employment waiting for him here in Canada.

so...would these be sufficient for them;
JOB LETTER (FROM SPONSOR)
OSAP FUNDING PROOF (FROM SPONSOR) including length of study
PROOF OF EMPLOYMENT AWAITING APPLICANT IN CANADA

we also have 2 kids together so I get money for them as well

When we applied my husband was a student drawing OSAP and had seasonal summer work while not in school. We supplied OSAP and tax document to show his income and that got approval for him to sponsor. Aside from that, for financial support of me we provided bank statements, my work from home letter of employment (which for your husband a letter of job prospect will work just as well).

The three things you state will be great, provide a current bank statement to show funds in bank accounts you guys have and also provide the documentation on the money you get for the kids as well. Provide all means of income that is coming into the family or will be coming into the family to the VO.

If anyone else has any other thoughts please add them as well.

I'm gonna start working on getting these documents together tomorrow cause I just have a gut feeling this is all they need now to make our break our case :-)

they already asked for FBI clearance and medical and for me to pay the landing fee and we did...keeping my fingers crossed

Sent an email to CIC last night to inquire about my application again and see if it is "in process" yet. Hopefully we will hear something back this time. I might pass out if I actually see a response in my inbox. :o Hopefully it will be good news if any news. Fingers are crossed!

Good luck!

It's been 2 weeks since PPR for us and it's been quiet since then despite 2 e-mails (one with the copy of PP and one for a request for followup). I guess I can't complain (much) since others like yourself have been though a much longer ordeal. Hope you get some resolution soon!

Hi there,

I'll be away on vacation next week (away from my usual job of hitting refresh on ECAS every 10 minutes), and so won't have the ability to update the spreadsheet. That burden will have to be on amikety's shoulders (though she's not been around much lately - are you on vacation too, amikety?). If anyone else wants to help with the editing, please gsend me a PM with your email address and I can assign you editing rights for the spreadsheet. It's not at all hard to do the editing, but if you leave the spreadsheet open so anyone can edit, it gets effed up really, really quickly...

Hope you're all well and that I'll come back in a week to find that you've all amazingly quickly (or finally!) received COPR!

If anyone deserves to receive that COPR, it is you! Have a good vacation!

Thanks!

So, I just got a call from my landlord in Montreal, who is keeping an eye on our apartment until we finally finish moving there, and he said there was a brown paper envelope from the Government of Canada in our mail. Now, I did provide our my Montreal address to our VO, but I didn't say that I'd moved, or that my family had moved there, but I'm wondering if CIC - in its infinite wisdom - sent COPRs to the address where the people who need the visas are not, didn't update ECAS, and the VO is now wondering why I keep sending stern and unhappy letters. I did leave a prepaid international express mail envelope with our landlord (for other stuff I was expecting, like hydro bill, insurance cards, my permanent photo QC driver license, and other miscellaneous mail I was expecting, so I could take care of those things while I'm still in the States), and he sent me all of my mail earlier today.

Since he's already sent me all that stuff, it's too late to ask what the return address of that envelope was, but did your COPR envelopes indicate that they were from CIC, or have a return address that would indicate that they are immigration related? Other than something from CIC, is there anything a returning Canadian might get in a brown envelope from the Government of Canada other than COPRs? Is it possible this is finally ending?

The envelope is going to my work address, and my boss is a good and trusted friend who knows we're leaving, so I'll get her to open it when it arrives, but I am going to go absolutely :P effing bonkers 8) while I wait until next week!

To the rational person, this would not make any sense. However, we are dealing with CIC, so this wouldn't surprise me one bit. Hopefully you're all set!
