So sorry to hear about your application. As for medicals, I thought I had lost the emedical paper that was given to me by the doctor so I called the doc office and asked for another copy, which was free of charge for me (canada). So you don't have to do your medical again, afterall cic only wants proof that you have done your medical, that piece of paper is not the actual results of the medical.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. We are hoping that that on Monday someone has the confirmation in a system or on paper and it will then be synced/put into the tracking system. On the occasion that the application was delivered and they have no record of it being delivered/can't find it, is there anyone I can contact at Mississauga to find out if it is there? I expect not since it is probably just in a big pile somewhere. When should we start getting new FBI letters, etc?

The biggest fear for us is that I would need to retake the medical, as I have a really bad fainting reflex to venipuncture. This last time, they took my blood and everything seemed to be going okay afterward for a few seconds and I was quite happy to have it over. Next thing I know I am being woken up from a rather idyllic dream and I can't see at all (completely black) and keep going in and out of consciousness as they try to snap me out of it and put oxygen masks on my face and whatnot. Really not looking forward to that again. Is there any chance that CIC would accept a copy of the medical confirmation paper we got, or that the medical office might issue a new one without doing the tests?

In addition, we did tracking + signature on delivery to the normal CPC-M PO BOX 3000, Station A. Should we have used the courier address because of the signature on delivery?

For e-medicals they just need the IME number. For IMM 1017 (paper) medicals, they just need the serial number off the IMM 1017 form. These allow them to look up the medical results in the IMS computers and post the medical results to GCMS. Your medical details are not part of your immigration file - only the medical assessment is part of your immigration file.

Is it k to request gcms notes? Does it impact processing times?

Electronic notes are processed by the ATIP office and do not perturb the process. Physical notes require someone at the visa office pull your file and make a copy of it and can perturb the process and slow things down.

In either case, a notation is made in your file that you have submitted an ATIP request.

Thanks a lot.. Helps..

We just received a great Anniversary Gift from CIC 1 yr married and decision made on my file. Still awaiting the letter requesting passport for visa. did most people receive thia letter via email or old fashioned snail mail?

Good luck to all. I started this journey with Quebec Feb 2011 in trying to get working papers.
Know hat if you stay positive it will happen and take it one day at a time because you are one day closer. It will happen for you too :D

That is great news. How long from the date on your letter for PPR that you receives the email? Or change in status to Decision Made to receiving the email?

Congrats! :)

Usually decision made comes after PPR but I have read cases were they don't ask for PPR and they just finalize the application ;)
And Ecas doesn't always change either.

Thank you for the responses. I work in the us daily and drive across the border at a border crossing with 24 hr immigration office. I asked them about my decision made scenario with no ppr and he says since US is visa exempt country for normal travel there is no passport request to wait for just COPR. Have people received COPR via email or snail mail? :-*

COPR is by Snail Mail only , Since it has your photograph which will be used for PR Card.

Ecas changed to Decision Made this morning.... There IS joy in Mudville ;-)

Phew. Canada Post just updated with delivery for the 12th. Woo! Now begins the waiting. :)

As shanmba1174 said, the COPR will come in the mail. From what I've read, you will get approval in email when they send it out and it should get there 2 weeks after.

As for the PPR, there seems to be a rather random chance of whether they will do one at all or even if you'll get that above notification. For some people, one day, the COPR just shows up in the mail. If they do send you a PPR, it will be by email, requesting scanned copies of your passport to be returned by email, just so they can use it to create the COPR I believe. Not sure why they do this when they have copies of your passport already in the package, which might be why some people don't even receive a request and just get the COPR in the mail one day.

Agreed, seems like a nonsensical approach to me, as the majority of those in the US still receive a PPR. Our passports were nowhere near the expiration date and copies sent at the beginning, and, since they only ask to see the cover page, there's no evidence of stamps which show any travel activity, but we went through the PPR, as well. Apparently, they have a reason...
