So I talked to my attorney on the phone today instead of the constant emailing with the paralegal... She says that contacting the MP was a good choice, but is sticking to her story about how not paying the RPRF upfront doesn't cause any delays... I told her that it's even stated on CIC's website that payment upfront will make the process smoother and faster, and she is sticking with "No, that's just not true"

I'm so angry I could scream!

That's a shame. But I suppose at this point the damage has already been done, so pointing fingers and getting upset won't change much. I understand it isn't a good situation and you've definitely been screwed over and being told you're wrong about something that you aren't wrong about makes it even worse. But now all you can really do is hope for the best since you've already contacted your MP.

This makes me really glad we didn't decide to use an attorney though, we almost did until we were quoted $5000 just to fill out papers for us. :o

Our attorney charged us 2000 for everything. I will certainly never recommend them, but you are right, the damage is already done and there is nothing I can do about it.

That is great news :D
This should mean that your COPR is in the mail.

Thanks!! I was so excited but then had a bit of panic because my original address was in the states and then I had it changed to a Canadian address.
My mother is up visiting us for a month and I may have to wait until she goes back down! If they made a decision on May 15th,how long does it usually take to show up?

=( I hope you hear something soon. Paying that much money just to have this happen is very unfair, this is the kind of thing paying that money is suppose to help you avoid, not cause it.

Our COPR is dated May 2 and it arrived May 9. Not bad for Canada Post :)

Speaking of the post, since I live in the States, it could take 2 weeks or more for me to receive mine when the time comes. Didn't I see something about providing them with something to speed it up, some sort of shipping envelope or such?

Glad you finally got the COPR! Did you see any change in ECAS at any point, and if so, when? We're at the same point you were when you got COPR (79 days since our PPR - 71 since they actually received our passports, photos, and other documentation).

At least our notes should arrive soon - we ordered those 27 days ago, and at least now that we've leased an apartment we have an MP that we can complain to. And in fact I think I'll do that right now!

The wait and silence are wearing me down.
