So my attorney is trying to convince me that not paying my RPRF upfront did not set us back at all. Grr >:(

Feel free to take your application and smack him! :)

But I am sorry he seems to think that it didn't set you back :( And that it has set you back :( :(

Exactly! It is all electronic, especially now with the online ordering... it won't slow anything down. The officer working on your file will not even be aware that that you have requested the information.

Note that ATIP requests do create an entry in the GCMS record, so the officer will be aware you have requested the information.

LOL. He gives bad advice and then tries to convince you it wasn't bad advice.

That's good, I want them to know someone's looking over their shoulder.

Hi all I finally got my official PPR yesterday ;D ;D

When I say official, I mean tha last week I got an email in reply to one i'd sent to Ottawa (you the standard "please tell me what the hells going on!!!!) which said "They are ready to finalise your application and will be requesting copies of your passport soon" (I had the get drunk party for this email hahahaha.

And yesterday it finally arrived.

So last night I scanned my passport etc and now am ust waiting for COPR :)

Thanks to you all for your support and kind words. I can't believe its nearly over !!!!

Got respond back "Our office will contact you in due course regarding the final stage of your application. We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum COPR. Yes you bet - I've been living with my Albertan hubby for nearly 4.5 years (thats a loooooooot of visitor visa renewals lol) :o every one after the first got me thinking "they're gonna say no they're gonna say no" but they didn't and stressful as its been I'm not in half as bad a position as those who are apart from their spouses.

How annoying that they won't tell you what that decision is, surely it's not that difficult to say "It's positive and you'll be recieving your ppr shortly" much like they did with mine ::)

Haha, we thought the same thing this Fall when it came time to renew my status yet again. We had meant to file for PR right away... but life happens. Now I'm just hoping to finish school before I land!

So this is going to be the week when Ottawa approves everything, right? 8)

I can send my husband to bother them with his toy helicopter to motivate them.

Not sure you want a sponsor with a recent arrest record!

Soooo.... the average number of days from sponsorship to passport requested is showing to be 829 days (!), though no one has taken that long. I'm assuming there's an oversight there? I'm looking at day 115 today and hopping up and down, knowing that I'm in "the queue" now and will hopefully hear something in the foreseeable future!

I envy those of you who applied from within. Unfortunately, not only could I not deal with not having insurance, according to all the material I read, if it was denied, there was no appeal. Having a husband in Canada and a daughter in the states (one daughter is now 22 since the process began and will hopefully clear with me), I couldn't chance getting stuck on either side. We've been in the relationship for 3 years and married for 9 months, so we're really at the end of our rope, hope something happens soon!
