Guys, who knows how long does it take for Ottawa to issue visa/copr after passport arrives to them?
I just asked with question a few posts back.Midwest said:Guys, who know how long does it take for Ottawa to issue visa/copr after passport arrives to them?
WOW It sounds like a long wait. I am a bit paranoid about safety of my passport. It is not easy to get a new one from the embassy of my home country.Hnhkrk said:I just asked with question a few posts back.
On average, it takes about 30 days but recently it's been taking a bit longer than that.
You mean they requested your passport? Is it an American passport?Midwest said:WOW It sounds like a long wait. I am a bit paranoid about safety of my passport. It is not easy to get a new one from the embassy of my home country.
If you are a US Citizen (or a citizen of another visa exempt Country) they will ask you to sent them a COPY of your passport, but if you are a Citizen of any other country, they will ask you to submit your actual passport.xbwa said:For someone like me from a visa non-exempt country (I am working in the US), if everything goes smoothly, I would expect one of Canadian visa offices in US would eventually request my passport to stamp the immigration visa, just like I sending my passport to apply for a TRV visa before.
Yes, because I'm not from visa exempt country. My hubby is on a work/training visa here and I'm his dependent.lunas said:You mean they requested your passport? Is it an American passport?
If you mean extending her stay in Canada - No, you do not.FAM_Applicant said:Hi Everyone,
I have question regarding extending the stay for my wife. Do I have to include return ticket?
Thanks
That is consistent with my COPR (issued last October). No more pretty fancy forms.bacontoaster said:I wonder if the reason so many people are waiting for their CoPRs is this:

it sounds like something that would speed up the process in the long run...
Ours was on legal paper, not sure if it was "normal" paper or not hahacomputergeek said:That is consistent with my COPR (issued last October). No more pretty fancy forms.
Yes, blank legal paper like you can buy at any stationery store in the US or Canada. I find it ironic that they're doing this to save money but since there is no metric equivalent of legal size paper they have to pay to ship legal size paper around the world. I'm sure it's still cheaper than the pretty forms, but it would have been cheaper to figure out how to fit it all onto an 8.5x11" sheet or A4 sheet.parker24 said:Ours was on legal paper, not sure if it was "normal" paper or not haha
