Hey everyone,

First time visiting/posting on this site. Just curious to see how our timeline matches to everyone elses. We're getting a little impatient/worries with all the waiting, which I know is normal but I have lost all confidence in CIC when they lost our application the first time. I can't seem to open the CPP-O file, nor am I allowed to send PMs apparently so here are our details

Application to Sponsor sent to CPC-Missisauga, February 3, 2012
Copy of original application re-sent to CPC-Missisauga, June 20, 2012
Copy of original application re-sent to CPC-Missisauga, August 1st, 2012
Sponsorship approved by CPC-Missisauga & sent to CPP-O, August 20th, 2012
Medical requested by CPP-O on October 30th, 2012
Medical received (don't have a date on this one)

According to our MP's office, we've passed all the steps required. All we can do now is wait. I'm just curious how long it normally takes for CPP-O to process a file.

Thanks! :-)

Welcome, I'll add you. Don't know why you can't open the file - try this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AieZfLOxQt2FdDgzNTFmc2E2bjJjVUhGVlhPMEcwbWc#gid=0

I've added you. I put in an estimated application received date of 8/3 so your application would be sorted properly (date received is the date we use to sort all of the applications). Looks like you had a rough start at this process - hopefully now they have your medicals and can process your application more quickly.

Here's one for the list.

Medical Done: 9/10/2012
Application Sent: 12/16/2012
Stage 1 AOR: 12/18/2012
Sponsor approval and Case forward to CPPO: 1/16/2013

Now we wait for a waiver and PP request or interview notice :)
We had our first child after the app was mailed. :D So from what ive read, it will be likely that our interview be waived.

You've been added to the spreadsheet.

Ivan.....please add me.

My file is in Ottawa after successful appeal in Toronto (August 2012). It arrived in Ottawa beginning of February. It was sitting in Mexico collecting dust I guess for 5 months.

Many people tell me that successful appeals ae handked differently and much faster.

I find this hard to believe. I wont hold my breath ! :-X

With thanks

Sure - do you have more precise dates? Or I can put in approximate dates.

do you want dates after the appeal was alowed or when I first started the nightmare (april 2009) ?

So at this point, my husband paid the RPRF last night and sent the receipt to my attorney this morning. I'm reading that since we waiting to be asked for it, this has slowed us down by two months or more. (Hoping that's not actually the case, but anyone who knows, feel free to give me the details!) Now I guess the next step is the PPR.

My question... My medicals were done on June 19th, 2012. How long will it back us up if I'm not able to move before then? I can't go the second I get my visa because I'll have to pack all of my stuff into my relocube, which my husband is going to come down and help me with, and he may not be able to get here right away what with work.

Also, I read somewhere that I will need to have my divorce papers from previous marriages (2) on me when I land. Anyone know if that's the case?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Big congrats to everyone who's gotten their PPR in the last couple of days. They really seem to be dishing them out right now :D

1. It slows down your application if you wait to get asked for it because they need to reflect the payment in the system, which only in-Canada offices (like CPC-M) can do. Remember, technically CPP-O is outland processing so they are on outland systems and covered by outland regulations even if they are in Canada. CIC provides a link where you can send the confirmation of payment to CPC-M via e-mail so they get to it without needing to wait for mail to be processed. Take a look at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-after.asp.

2. If your CoPR is issued soon, it will expire the earlier of when your medicals expire or when your passport expires. If things get delayed and everything is ready within 15 months of the date of your medical, they can extend it for another year. So, for now, plan to land before June 1 of this year so that your CoPR doesn't expire. You can always land and then go back to pack.

3. They usually don't request any application documents when you land, but they always can (since it is considered an interview). So, it's best to have originals/copies of everything you sent in as part of your application available just in case.

Hey, gsize - have you seen http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/resources/manuals/bulletins/2011/ob305.asp? I haven't seen any updates to the bulletin and it hasn't expired, which would indicate there's a section of CPP-O* that still handles successful appeals before they are sent back to the VO (if necessary).

~~~
* Remember CPP-O has various sections - the US portion, the visitor visa section, etc
thanks ! I saw this. It looks good on paper and then there is the reality. Honestly, I dont know what to believe anymore. While I was waiting for news from Ottawa, my MP told me the file was in Mexico city (back in Oct 2012) It is now in Ottawa apparently. So the question is: why was the file sent back to Mexico when it was supposed to go to Ottawa ? Hey, whats another 6 months ?
Thankfully, I have a sense of humour. 8)
