DM this morning! I noticed that when I log into my portion of the Ecas (applicant) it shows my home address as my house in the states, but my mailing as my address in Canada. When I sent them my docs from the request I updated my address information, should it matter? As long as the COPR gets mailed to the right place?

I was wondering how this works anyways? I'd like COPR sent to the US address, but the PR needs to come to Canada obvi. How does that work?

Your address is within Canada or in the USA?

Mine is in the USA, I sent out on Dec. 1 and CPC-Ottawa signed the Fedex package on Dec. 2.

Haven't heard the news yet.

I am based in Toronto. I saw my return envelope tracking activate just before 6pm on the day it was sent. The average waiting period for the passport return from Ottawa is somewhere between 2 to 3 weeks. A few had been lucky enough to get theirs back within a few days.

Yesterday I heard the most amazing words "Congratulations you're now a permanent resident, Welcome to Canada".

The journey have been almost a year and a half, and this forum have helped us so much. Thank you all.

I will of course stick around and help as much as I can.

Awesome news! And another congratulations!

Just got the ready for visa email! What a nice feeling before Christmas.

Quick question,

For the appendix B - Updated Information Chart - do I put my spouse or partner that sponsored me? (Canadian Citizen) Or is it just those who are receiving the visa?

Hey all. When the COPR comes through and you go to land, I already have all of my stuff up here since I was visiting, do I still need a B4 form if I have nothing to claim?

Has anyone been approved for Common-Law recently through CPP-Ottawa? What was your timeline like?

I received an initial request for docs (generic batch) in October, which we replied to, then we got an 'ultimatum' email on Dec 2, basically saying "send us the docs within 7 days that we requested 45 days ago OR ELSE...", which was scary because we had already sent the docs in. I haven't heard anything back from CIC going on 2 weeks now.

We just got the "ready for visa today" and we are CL through Ottawa. We went IP Oct 9 and got the generic email on Oct 23.

It seems that it takes on average 8 to 10 months for most. There are always the exceptions on both sides of the aforementioned timeline, probably because of unique circumstances.

We have just recently.

Filed March 17th
IP August 14th
Surprise doc request October 30th (like you said, within 45 days)
Sent docs overnight November 25th
DM December 15th

I love all the walk throughs of the how the landing process went. Thanks for sharing. Keep it up.

Christmas is coming… I hope the CPP-Ottawa people aren't in holiday mode yet. Instead, I hope they are plowing through their current files to get as much done as they can before going on break!!!
