Congratulations! That must have been a nightmare to wait for with the missing correspondence. I think you just call the call centre for that. There was a number on the COPR.

Well, this is speculation but it seems like they have two different levels of information. At the land or sea border they have the people outside who check your documents, and if they get some kind of hit or suspicion they send you inside. Have you ever been taken "to the back" or whatever they do to you at airports when they want to grill you?

Nope. Never. I just wonder how much information they really have at their fingertips if at all. I think they always just turn to the page with my July stamp and ask if that was the last time I was there. It's opens to that page rather naturally. Sounds like the border crossings are more stringent.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

congratulations.

So...silly question...when we are sending in passport copies, photos etc. in the final document request before COPR, why do we have to inclose TWO prepaid envelopes? One for the COPR now and one for the PR card later??? Or am I somehow misreading what they want and they actually mean that we use one of the envelopes ourselves to send them our photos and documents and the other prepaid envelope?

I had the same question, so I erred on the side of caution. I sent two prepaid envelopes with my address filled in for the send to portion, stuffed the passports, pictures and documents in another envelope to keep them together and sent them all in a prepaid envelope. For the $13.00 for an extra prepaid envelope, I figured it was worth it even if they throw it away.

Thanks very much - I think we will do the same!

Awesome! I got DM the day after you. Hoping I'll see my COPR soon, too.

Is your mailing address in the US or Canada? (Assuming it takes longer depending on where it goes. I'm in Toronto.)

Good luck with your landing!

COPR arrived in the mail today!!

Here is our timeline for others:

Application Received: March 13
In Process since: May 4
Generic Doc Request Email: September 22
DM: November 13/14
COPR arrived via mail in the USA: November 24

Thanks for sharing your timelines! I received DM on Nov. 21st. I'm in Edmonton so I wonder how long it will take to get the COPR? I can't wait, it is so nerve racking waiting for it!

Thanks for sharing this! I have the same DM date. Hoping to see COPR this week, too.

I'm in Toronto, but it's NO surprise that USPS is faster/better than Canada Post in getting you COPR quickly.

USPS>Canada Post. :P

Good luck landing!

Logged in this morning and saw my status changed to DM!! We called the call centre and they confirmed that the decision was made on Nov 18.

Applied: Feb 19, 2015,
In Process: Aug 25, 2015
Additional document requests: Aug 19 Generic (proof of sponsor in Canada); Sep 8 Generic (Police Clearance); Nov 2 Specific request non generic
Decision Made: Nov 18, 2015

This forum has been very helpful to me to understand shared experiences. Nothing is final yet, but I am much closer to permanent residency now.

Waiting patiently is so hard to do, but eventually it gets finalized. Wishing everyone still waiting a speedy DM.

I just got an EMail from CPC-CTD-Ottawa warning me that if I don't send in my FBI record within 60 days I could be denied PR. The part that has my heart racing in fear is that I sent in this FBI record already on Thursday, nov. 12th, and it was signed for on Monday, November 16th. (the weekend between caused a delay). They said that they won't acknowledge any receipt of my items, and I'm just sitting here thinking, but if they don't acknowledge it how can we communicate if they somehow failed to get the deliver or failed to include it with my application? You know? How can I make sure I won't be flat out denied PR due to a delivery error?

Wow so many DM's! I wonder if they are speeding up the process to get the family class out of the way for the refugees. Congrats everyone.

@JamesinCanada I think you can reply to the email and say you already sent it, show them that it was signed for. If you can't reply to that email send them a case-specific enquiry.

You can also phone the call centre. They may be able to see if it was received. I suggest calling in the morning to get through easier.

Congrats to everyone who has received DM...hoping mine is right around the corner...
