it's quite possible you might not get a ppr.

lol... like i said ottawa seems to be skipping over this step with some applicants. my guess is, since they only need a copy, they use the one sent in with the app. i'm also guessing they don't ask for an updated one if it's not close to expiration and if a female applicant has already changed their name to their spouses'. just my theory of course! to be a fly on the wall at CIC!

ok yeah, right before sending my application, I pre-emptively got a brand new passport renewal (good for 10 years). Fingers crossed for everyone!

That's awesome, I really hope the next 'leg' of my application goes as quick as some on here. I'm rushing to get the CSQ done so it won't hold things up. I'm so tired of paperwork.

Guys, I have a question. I just sent my passport (ppr) and hopefully get it back soon. i will be able to "land" August 23, and on september 13th me and my husband are going for vacation to Mexico. I used to have study permit and visa but now I assume this will be cancelled. I do not have PR card yet and it takes 2-3 months to get it in the mail......without PR card I can`t come back to Canada (we fly). I want to get Permanent resident Travel Document.
Should I apply for that through my country of Ukraine? I`m not going there at all..... My gosh how long will that take? I feel like I`m in the corner, I need to come back to Canada but how.......

You can't land at an airport in Canada unless you're flying into it from another country. You can certainly drive to the nearest land border (USA) and turn around and re-enter Canada to land though

UPDATE: DECISION MADE!!!!!! My status in ECAS went from "In Process" to "Decision Made" tonight.

I have had zero contact with CIC since my SA..... no request emails, no post mail, no phone calls.... I hope this is a good thing?

DECISION MADE FOR ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!! while 99% of me is confident it's a positive decision because i didn't get asked for additional info or an interview, 1% of me is still nervous in the service that they'll say "eh, thanks but no thanks!". eeeeeeek!!!!!!!!!

congrats to you too! i actually wasn't oging to check my ecas until you said yours changed. mine was still in process last night, and i really wasn't expecting it!!!!!!!! now, let's just get our papers and land, and all will be happyyyyyyyy!!!!

correct, i *think* we just have to bite our nails and wait for the papers to arrive by snail mail. i have yet to see reports of people getting any notification by email once status changes to DM.
