Congrats to everyone who has gotten an update from CPP-Ottawa! It really looks like they've picked up the pace I'm hoping to get an email any day now!
Are you in a common-law union? If so, they need that.boomlet said:We just got PPR!!!!
They also request IMM 5409 again, which is weird as I'm positive we filled it out correctly with the application -- any one else get this?
*Just realized we actually DIDN'T do it! -- but it's becuase on the Document Checklist, it says you only need 5409 if you have a co-signer:
5
Original of completed Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM 5409), if you have a co-signer and he or she is your common-law partner
Very weird! Anyone know why they need this from us? We don't have a co-signer.
Which country are you from?? Does PPR mean you will get the landing paper soon?boomlet said:We just got PPR!!!!

Interesting. It isn't explicitly listed, is it. But it is implied in the "Civil Status" section (official documents proving your relationship - what else could you get?)boomlet said:computergeek: We will definitely send in the requested form, but out of curiosity, where does it say that common-law apps need to include it?? Can't find it anywhere!
I guess CIC wont take a Facebook relationship status as official relationship documentation, haha only jokingcomputergeek said:Interesting. It isn't explicitly listed, is it. But it is implied in the "Civil Status" section (official documents proving your relationship - what else could you get?)
your wife won't know her own UCI number unless the visa office sends a second aor. Ottawa does NOT send these, so unless she gets a document from CIC, she most likely won't know what it is. She can use your UCI number to sign on to ECAS and check her status.alonekitchener said:Hi Everyone,
I really desperately need the communities advise. I am originally from Bangladesh. I became canadian in 2013. My wife is from Bangladesh but was studying in the USA on a f1 student visa when we got married in Dec 2013 in the USA. I live in Canada.
We applied on March 4th 2014 as outland. I was accepted as a sponsor on April 2nd. But something weird happened and I have been desperate trying to seek answers from the call centre. They sent me 2 emails, one saying our files will be sent to Ottawa and one saying it will be sent to singapore. Does anyone know why this might be?? We have received our UCI but my wife has not received hers. I called the call centre on 17th June 2014 and they said our files are still in Ottawa. They were not able to clarify why I got 2 emails. Every time I call the call centre they give me a different answer (1) don't worry about it, 2)its a mistake, 3) we don't know). Can anyone help me? Where can I get some answers...
Desperate desperate for some advice.......

Hi rhcohen2014. I figured out what the gap is. I was reading over both emails again today and realized that the 2nd email (in the body) said "please disregard the previous email as it listed the wrong visa office for this file". I feel SO relieved. This shows that they can make mistakes too. At least now I know everything is going as it should be and that my file has been and should be processed in CPP-0. Nothing to do but just wait now for them to send me updates. As you say, CPP Ottawa does not send a 2nd AOR.rhcohen2014 said:your wife won't know her own UCI number unless the visa office sends a second aor. As for which visa office it got sent to, if singapore is a VO that sends AOR2, you'll know it has been sent there if your wife receives it. All communication from this point will be sent to the applicant, not the sponsor. You can always send a case specific email to the ottawa VO, send them the AOR noting Singapore and ask them you would like to verify if it's still in Ottawa. The AOR will have information about how to contact the VO.
it is my understanding all communication after sponsorship approval goes through the applicant.alonekitchener said:Can you tell me if I will be included in all communication from now on since Ottawa does not send AOR2? Just so that me and my wife know what to look out for.
Thanks!

kitty: I'm from the U.S. - hopefully we'll get our CORP soon! I wasn't expecting to get the PPR yet, as our SA took 52 days while most people applying at the same time took around 35-ish days on average, and only a few of them have had PPR. But like everyone says, who the heck understands the inner-workings of CIC.
My PPR went to my sponsor via e-mail (and the sponsorship letter came in the mail!).rhcohen2014 said:it is my understanding all communication after sponsorship approval goes through the applicant.
