Got a question: When we go to land, should we bring a filled out PR card application to make things quicker? Should we bring PR card photos?

We are already working on the B4.

Can someone explain the PR process for Spouse in USA.
I want to know where the Application needs to be sent out initially?
Then, the Do we need to mention VO for passport such as LA or New York ourseleves ? or CIC decides and let us know about it ?
How much time does it usually takes for Spouse PR to arrive.

Same here! I wanted to see if it had changed to 'in process', or any movement at all...didn't expect to see Decision Made! Now, hopefully that means the COPR's are in the mail!

Washingtongirl, Is there any updated in your online status ?

All/ Seniors - There have been several people who got their PPR during the months of Oct/ Nov/ Dec 2013 and still waiting for the COPR. But, I could see that the Feb PPR cases have got the "Decision Made" quickly. Do you see any specific patterns with this ?

I am tired.

bye !

Congrats to everyone who has received PPR/COPR recently!!

I am wondering the same thing as GeorgeJoseph. It seems like the PPR cases from the end of last year are hung up in the que somewhere and later applicants are bypassing PPR altogether. Does anyone have any insight on this? Are they just trying to speed up the process now to catch up on backlog, or did they get rid of the PPR process entirely?

Thanks all!

All such applications are sent to CPP-O (Ottawa). For cases that require non-routine processing (interviews, ARCs, TRPs, etc.) they are forwarded to either NYC or LA. CPP-O may choose to forward normal applications as well, but historically has not done so.

No matter what you write for your preference of offices, it will go to Ottawa first.

I'd suggest checking the immigration data set on the Open Data Project site (data.gc.ca) - the immigration data set is the most popular one so just look at the "25 most popular data sets" and grab the top one. Then you can see what the times are for all the offices, including Ottawa, for 20%/30%/50%/70% and 80% of applications. For a straight-forward application, the 50% time is generally the best estimate.

I have no idea either as to why the PPR's late last year are getting hung up :( DH did get a PPR, it just seemed to move quickly after that. Mind you, we don't have COPR in hand yet - so, it could be 'DM' for awhile and the COPR will show up in a few months. No idea, really!

You guys are August applicants. If they are speeding up, they should start with June Applicants like me first! hehe... No updates yet since the medical results have been received since last December.

I have a theory. I'm guessing that there are occasionally reviews of the various visa offices against the metrics they collect, so for example, how long is it taking to process 50% of your applications. If there is a review coming up and someone wants to make that number look better, processing a bunch of August applicants quickly makes the time to process 50% come down nice and quickly. It's only a guess, of course, but any time you judge people against metrics, you encourage behaviors that make those metrics look better. So yay for the August applicants, and less fun for those of us in the slow-boat line...

Just wanted to let you all know that I landed yesterday (overland, at Coutts, AB). It was a pretty quick and painless process. My one "mistake" (if you can call it that) was being too thorough on my list of belongings. I'm a bit OCD so I separated out nearly every item I own as a separate line item with its own valuation. They only get 6 barcode stickers, and I had more pages than that in my document, so the poor border agent had to hand-write the number on all the other pages! Also, I put a $0 value on some line items of used items that I thought weren't worth anything to anyone but me. Apparently that's a no-no. Everything should be worth something.

So some advice: instead of listing everything out, say something like "bin of used books, value $35", etc. And keep it to 6 pages or less! :)

My husband got PPR. He is on visitor visa in Canada now.
Does anyone know if he can use a prepaid envelope (self address to my Canadian adddress) to get his passport back? If so, does he need to update CIC the new address which is the sponsor (myself)'s address.

Thanks!!
