The area around Drexel has been improving over the years, but several blocks north of Drexel is still a bit rough. Center City, on the other side of the Schuylkill River, is all very nice (and a bit pricey) until you go about 15 blocks north or south, but even that is improving. If you go farther west than 44th it gets rougher, too. For the first year or so a dorm is probably a good idea if that's an option, until the city is more familiar.

Good to know Ivan!! It makes me a little less nervous about her going there. I do know that dorm housing is mandatory her first year.

On another topic, I submitted for GCMS notes yesterday but I didn't provide proof that I have a right to request the documents (I am the US Citizen). What will I need to provide to them for proof when they ask? I am currently "visiting" in Canada until we get PR. I do have a couple of utilities in my name as well as my wife's name. Will they contact me back asking me for proof that I have a right to request the case files?

Agreed! And I'd have done inland too. I could have at least been able to get a work permit on principal approval by this point.

Hate to be a PITA, but Inland is backed up too. They are at 10 months at this point still waiting for AIP. :/

The Stage 1 AOR email said that my Visa Office is in Ottawa, well i was wondering how long will I have to wait until I get the Stage 2 AOR email? Its just sent from Mississauga to Ottawa, it shouldn't take too long, right? Oh one more question, how do you know when your application will stay in Ottawa and not have to go to one of the visa offices in the USA? Thankyou.

You may not get one at all, and you will only know if it needs to go to NY or LA when they send you an email or letter stating it IS going there.

Pretty much (unless there is something wrong with the application). This is the very long (and painful) wait that we all must face.

Awe dang i thought wed here something or look forward to the next step every 1 to 2 months, it was hard enough to wait 1 month to get stage 1 done. I got to figure out what i can do in the meantime. I out of a job right now but shoot ill get one to pass the time here in the us until its time to pack up. Thankyou,

CIC's internal target processing time for spouses and dependent children is 6 months after stage 1. Lots of people have gotten PPR right around that time, but processing times have gotten longer recently, so it's really hard to know how long it will actually take.
