My husband did his fingerprints in canada. The police department wouldn't do it because he had nothing with a canadian address for him (obviously since he can't live here!). So we found a place that does it specifically for immigration. Just search online for places near you.

I don't think it's a bad sign necessarily, they just want some more info. They just want an up to date FBI clearance and unfortunately I think you'll have to go to the states to do that as you need to go right through the FBI not a third channel party.

EDIT: Sorry looks like I was wrong about the fingerprinting. Good news for you!

As for the other documents requested those would be fairly simple to send in right? Especially if you're staying with your husband right now.

Ok I have been visiting my husband for about 2 months now and i was planning on going back in july. I told them at the boarder I am staying for the summer and they didnt ask any further info or stamped my passport or anything. We have bank accounts in canada and the USA. Also we just bought a car together. And iam pregnant. Is that enough prove?

Sure but organize it all and send it in to the visa officer. Send in pictures you two have taken together with friends, family, just you two. Show your bank accounts (just like they said in the email). My advice is try to cover every point they listed in the email, plus more evidence. You don't want them to have any doubt.

I am a US citizen in Canada and I was able to go to the local police station in Canada to get my fingerprints done. They did not request an address or anything from me. I told them I was a US citizen in the immigration process and it was fine. I sent them off and received my original clearance in about 6 weeks. Good luck!

You can tell them where you want them to mail your results to. It doesn't automatically go to your home address. I also had a very rude experience at my local police department. Although I've heard some ppl can get it done, some provinces won't. I'd recommend to just go through someone else.

i know it doesn't have to go to home address, i'm just curious if they will mail it out of the country. it costs more money.
