CPP-Ottawa passport return time - Recent

We submitted paper applications, they were received on December 3. No news so far.

My timeline is send my online application on the 30th of november 2014
They asp for my passeport on the 5th of december
They received on the 8th of december
I'm still waiting for it
I send them a mail asking them for my passport's status because I'm suposse to travel on the 22 of december they haven't answer

I wish they had more clear timelines

Finally...visa received!
I suggest no one uses paper application any more. It took about 2 months to get it back.
I can see people who submitted online in mid November and got their visa already.

Mine didn't show up till probably mid night on the Canada post tracking system.
It takes a while to get the updates in the system.
If you have plans soon before end of next week, and you are afraid the passport wont arrive on time call Canada post.They are very helpful.

I don't get it, really! I saw on cic website that it takes 14 days for processing applications, so I sent my passport on Dec 3rd and bought the ticket to Europe for January 7th..

And now I'm stuck, don't know what to do I really don't understand how can they put that time frame on there, when they know that people rely on it.. And waiting time is not even close to it, but 3 times longer

Did anybody try calling them after those 14 days?

You should have used the online application. I know most of us here did the paper application because it says online 14 days. But unfortunately it takes longer than that.
looks like they have more application to process, than expected.
All you can do is wait. If you don't received you passport early enough, try to delay your flight maybe.

I always applied on paper in the past, and that timeline was always correct. I don't know whats going on with those guys, but I guess I'll have to cancel the flight. But I'll def try calling them first

Unfortunately, if you call it wont help. The call center can only send CPC a letter saying that you want to drop your application. They will tell you that we have no access on information related to that.
I know, sometimes the paper application would work for me very well, but in December I was never lucky to have it on time.

Received by CIC: Oct 27th
Tracker activated: Dec19
Passport received: Dec 22(estimated)

OMG The suspense is intolerable especially for those of us who submitted paper applications in late November 2014
Moreover the website says working on applications submitted on November 28th 2014.

Congrats, man! Didnt you send them express post envelope with the application? How did it take 8 days to get the passport back?
