Does any one know if the visa offices can exchange information? My medical results have been received by cpp-Ottawa, and I just got a medical request from Detroit visa office which is processing my old FSW application. Any suggestions on what to do?

As of today my application updates from "APPLICATION RECEIVED" to "IN PROCESS" but inside it's still a two liner (we received your application + meds received)

Here are my timelines.....

Received Nomination: 18th Aug 2011
Application sent to Bufallo: 6th Oct 2011
AOR+Medical Req received from CPP-Ottawa: 24th Nov 2011
Processing started: 22nd Nov 2011 (wohoooo!)
Medical done: 28th Nov 2011
Ecas updated with medical received: 16th Dec 2011

Any ideas on how long does it take to receive the passport request?

my timeline is very similar to yours
Sep 19, 2011 Application rec'd by Buffalo Visa Office
Oct 31, 2011 File transfered to Ottawa, rec'd file no. and medical request on the same day.
Nov 7, 2011 ECAS updated to “We started processing your application on Nov 7,2011”
Nov 8, 2011 Medical Done
Nov 30, 2011 Medical result been sent out by DMP
Dec 14, 2011 ECAS updated to “Medical results received”

Dude, you just applied in September and it's not even three months ... and you're expecting PPR. Are you out of your mind?

In all seriousness, yes CPP-Ottawa is processing file faster and from what I've seen people get their PPR in five to six months since initial application date which has been beyond wildest imagination in just few months prior -- but now we're expecting three months turnaround?

i dont think you should discourage other people coz i sent my application to buffalo in september and was transfereed to ottawa a month later and right now im preparing to go cross the border it is possible to get everything done in three months(considering i took 2 weeks to do my meds and another week to send my pp so 3 months is possible dont be discouraged )

I applied in early September too but took me three weeks to get meds done and there's delay with the lab ... so I'm probably two to three weeks behind you at most. We'll see

Application for permanent residence on July 25, 2011.
AOR+ MED REQ on Oct 28, 2011 ( Transferred to Ottawa)
MED done on November 4, 2011
Started processing the application on November 9, 2011.
Med Received: November 20, 2011 (according to the tracking number)
Medical results have been received (checked eCAS on Dec 15th and this note was updated)

And yet I have not received my PPR or any email from Ottawa or Buffalo regarding my application and my address is still there; is this normal? should I start bugging them?!

Hi,
Happy new year and congratulation to all of you who have recently got the PPR. I am bit confused about the File number and the Application number. You might have notice on your PPR, they ask us to right down Application number on the back of the RPRF money order and File Number on top of the Passport envelope. Is the same Application number which starts with Exxxxxxxx? Am I missing another number?

Not really. Your timeline seems to be a few days behind me at most.

Even if you do bug them, then the only response you will hear from them is that your application is still in processing. There is very little you can do at this point.

Some applications which takes longer to process especially on the security clearance part which may vary from applicant to applicant. If you're that curious about your case then you can apply for the GMCS/CAIPS note for a nominal fee to see where your case stand now.. but if I were you I wouldn't do this for at least a month.
