CPP-Ottawa --> Los Angeles

Hi,

I don't know if any member here has created a thread for people whose applications have been transferred to LA from Ottawa. I just want to create a space here for people to share their experiences.

Checking in. No notification of the transfer, no response to our queries to CPC-Ottawa, nothing. I remember reading someone else's post that they were not notified of the transfer either. I was told yesterday by my MP's office that the file was transferred so that they can interview us, but my consultant contacted CIC this morning and was told that there's nothing about an interview in our file, that's it's just for 'file sharing' as Ottawa has many files. Not sure who to believe here.

Yeah. What I discovered from other members' posts here is that CIC doesn't notify you about the transfer. But in some cases, when you contact CIC either by email or phone, they would tell you if your application has been transferred to LA. I think the reason they would/should tell you is that they don't want you to continue contacting Ottawa once your file is transferred.

Have you tried to contact LA office? What I'm worried about is that once our file is transferred, will it follow the new timeline (LA is 26 months) or still follow Ottawa's timeline.

After I received PPR and after being informed that interview was waived, my file was transferred to LA without any notification. I waited for months for copr and emailed Ottawa several times before they finally replied saying the app was sent to LA for completion. What a shock I ordered GCMS notes but nothing in there could provide a reason why ( there are no red flags). Since then I have emailed LA several times for an explanation but they just apparently ignore me as they have never replied. Apparently the file was transferred in Jan and now it is May and not a word since the transfer . it is just absurd. Seems like because they are unaccountable to anyone, that CIC can do whatever they want.

That is absurd! You got PPR in Oct last year! Are you an American citizen? I saw some other people who are not a American citizen or US PR, and their applications were transferred to LA. I wonder if that's the reason.

have you tried contacting you "MP"? I have heard this helps figure out what is going on.

Not yet, I decided to order another set of GCMS notes which hopefully will show some activity on the file. If there is no activity I will contact my MP at that time.

Fyi, visa offices are required to respond to a request from an MP's office within 5 business days, or provide a reason as to why they cannot reply and a timeline for a full answer. Absolutely get your gcms notes, but an MP request carries more 'weight' than a private request, which they can reply to with a stock letter or even not at all (as we have all experienced)
