Hi;

I have rec'd an e-mail stating the following even though I sent my application to Mississauga and I am sponsoring my wife who is living in Sweden.

``You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative has been forwarded to the visa office in CPC-Ottawa for further processing. ``

Please advice what this e-mail means.?

Thank you for your advice.

That is your SA (sponsorship approval). The rest of your application is being processed in Ottawa

That means the applicant's portion of the PR application (sponsored person) will be processed in Ottawa. I don't know if that's normal for an outland application for Sweden (likely not), but sometimes applications that are expected to go to other visa offices are sent to Ottawa instead (from what I've read here, often in the case of a backlog at the expected office).

sorry I forgot ask this question,,?

What will the timeline will be in Ottawa ...Please advice. Thank you.

From what I've heard it can range anywhere from 6-10 months.

It varies. From as short as 4 months (total, including the sponsor approval time) to 9 months, just a rough estimate.

Is your wife in Canada? Sometimes they send applications to Ottawa when the applicant is currently living in Canada.

Hi..Thank your help.:) really appreciated. She is living in Sweden. The application is out land. So I thought it would go to London for review. Also when I checked on the website , Check your application status :it only shows as In Process .

Please advice ..?

Thanks for everyone's sharing your info--this thread seems to be extremely helpful.

I applied for my parents at the beginning of Jan 2014. Today I received an e-mailed letter:

"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative has been forwarded to the visa office in CPC-Ottawa for further processing. "

I am really new to everything. Anybody can explain what: "has been forwarded to the visa office in CPC-Ottawa for further processing" actually means?

it means they are the visa office that will be evaluating and processing your parent's application for PR.

Just saying, over in February 2016 thread, Ottawa (spousal) applicants have received DM in less than 3 months. Definitely a good thing that it's being sent to Ottawa.

From this point on, ignore the sponsor side and only look at the applicant side. My husband landed and my sponsorship side still said in progress :P

I applied for my parents in 2016 and got this mail in 2017 march saying "You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative has been forwarded to the visa office in CPC-Ottawa for further processing. " what is the timeline for next step?
