As of today it now shows January 7, 2010 64 days
Earlier today it was January 26th 38 days.

What is going on over there, you think it is due to the earth quake in Chile?

Nope, earthquake in Haiti

PMM

How is earthquake and processing time related to each other?

Because they are busy processing those apps which are given priority from haiti

ECAS Processing Time....for parent sponsorship
why would it go back in time to May 11, 2007?
very very strange

the date was on May 24, 2007

Aw, man... I know I sound insensitive, but one thing after another..!
C'mon CIC, push 'em through....

prayers for haitians and prayers for all us being affected by this long delay too

Are other countries accelerating their processing of Haitian applicants?

"Are other countries accelerating their processing of Haitian applicants?" yes, many (including here in jamaica)... it's a humanitarian effort and also is done to help reduce refugee claims...

One part of my brain definitely understands that Haitians need it more than I do.... or probably more than any of us need it .... but my other part is so upset ....

While earthquake priorities would slow down Mississauga's processing of "normal" applications, it would be business as usual in the Visa Offices, right?

most likely yes, but i believe they do have the right to send applications to other offices for processing.... not sure if they are doing this tho?

I think the date may be an error - there are several people on the February application thread who has already received their sponsorship approvals for applications sent in Feb. Maybe it's supposed to be 7th FEBRUARY - not January ?

Yes, it hard to believe this CIC Date. On this forum there are a lot of people whose applications were received in Feb have already approved, how did that happen. I am confused.
