Hello,

I have a Canadian PR and been residing in Canada for over a year now. My then fiance had applied for her TRV from India in July 2020, the application is still pending because VFS are closed in India.

We are now planning to update her TRV under "Immediate family member" as family reunification, with supporting documents to show strong ties to India and willingness to immigrate through the right channels (Spousal PR).

My question is -

I am now writing an email to IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca
Besides all the necessary information in the body of the email, what documents do i need to attach to the email? I am planning to attach our marriage certificate and my PR card as proof that I have a PR and she is my wife = her being eligible to travel to Canada.

Hey bud! Like you, I am also a Permanent Resident of Canada. My fiance also have a valid visitors visa. We applied for her “covid travel exemption letter” as required and waited for almost 5wks til approval. The letter(email) is valid for 6months.

If you are a PR, and your fiance has a valid visitor visa, then you don't need the travel exemption letter!

You’re definitely incorrect buddy.

“Before you travel, make sure your written authorization from IRCC and your travel document (visitor visa or eTA, if required) are valid. If one or both documents are expired, you need to apply for new ones. Otherwise, you won’t be able to board your flight or enter the country.”

I rest my case

Thats totally right for “immediate “ family member.
But I guess know the difference bet married and just being a “fiance”‍ = Extended Family Member. ;)

My bad I didn't process the fiance part. I apologise hahaha. In my mind I'm thinking of PR and conjugal partner.

A fiance is one of the examples of an exclusive dating relationship, and such is considered as extended family member and not an immediate one. Thus, an AL is needed for the fiance of @balongskija in order for her to travel

A fiance isn’t guaranteed to considered as extended family member. It really depends how much time you have spent in person and how long the relationship has been.

Quick question. What documents did you attach to the email to IRCC ?
All the required documents mentioned on the website. As well as a couple pictures of us on my last vacay back home. Plus a copy of my PR card.
