Covid processing times

Hello I applied for a TRV outside of Canada for an accompanying infant who’s parents are PR. Can anyone give info on what’s the current processing times? Thx

Those are just estimates and may not be very accurate due to covid. Just warning you. The other issue is TRV is not guaranteed so if denied you can try for TRP.

Thank you for responding. So are they also rejecting TRV for immediate relatives of PRs? Also do you have an updated current timeline for processing times due to the Covid delays?

They are both approving and refusing TRVs for immediate family members. They still need to qualify like any other visitor. There isn’t exact timelines given such a crazy and ever changing situation.

Does anyone have any success getting their Work Permit approved under GTS. I know that Canada usually takes 2 weeks to approve these with an approved LMIA, but trying to understand if someone went through the process and knows about the current scenario?

2 weeks is the best case scenario. In reality many wait a lot longer.

I submitted my GTS application online on April 29 along with positive LMIA, upfront medical examination, police certificates, biometrics. I am still waiting the final decision.. this is really frustrating without knowing how long it is going to take up.. Also medical exam result shows up on my account "You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes" .

I am really hoping that they resumed processing GTS applications..

My biometrics got stuck because of COVID after I applied in March under GTS. I am finally giving my biometrics tomorrow, but have no clue how long it would take after that for a decision. Is there anyone who has received a quick GTS decision during COVID times?

@RMen In which country are you giving your biometrics ? Im trying from US, but not able to book biometrics appointment. Any details would be helpful.
