Hi
On the newly announced CERP (https://www.freshdaily.ca/news/2020/03/canada-will-give-2k-month-workers-whove-lost-their-jobs-because-covid-19/ krogerfeedback), will work permit holders be eligible to get this too?
It doesn't say anything about PR or work permit holders.
a lot of people on here think that people are getting free money and are going to horde it. The people that are receiving this money are in need of the money and are going to be spending it. It's going right back into the economy. Sure, there are going to be people who abuse the system. There always has been and always will be. The liberal government proposed, what they thought, was legislation to help Canadians. The other political parties objected to some of the measures in the bill. The government made changes and everyone agreed on the final version. Just the way our system is supposed to work.

You must have at least $5,000 in income during the last 12 months to qualify. If you didn't work in 2019, then you don't qualify.

Includes everyone who had employment income in the past 12 months
Hi, I was wondering do you have a valid source of that? The official website uses the term "workers" but doesn't specify which group of "workers" is included. Citizens/PRs/work permit holders. Thank you!

If you tell us your circumstances (what permit, how long you have worked, etc.)and when your permit expires we can give you a better idea.

It is to replace lost income. If you weren’t working your income has not been effected.

MP Monsef has posted this: see if it helps you/your situation.

https://mmonsef.liberal.ca/news-nouvelles/parent-student-employer-a-breakdown-of-how-covid-19-aid-package-supports-you/

Also look at this:

https://globalnews.ca/news/6749701/cerb-unemployed-graduates-students-coronavirus/

In the above article, it says the $5k can come from employment, self-employment or EI or Quebec maternity and parental benefits. I would contact your MP's office.

I started working ( two jobs ) few months back and my income past 12 months before april 1st 2020 was around 4500$ But my other income was through contract ( like self employed ) so basically my job that is on paper was 4500$
