Hi everyone.
My COPR expires on May 3rd, and the lockdown in India is also till May 3rd. My flight was booked for May 1st. Like many of you, I've also tried to change my flight to try and make it to Canada for my soft landing - without any success.
After not finding any particularly useful information through the webform (also, in my case, there was a confusion in the application type to be selected - so I chose Permanent Residence Applied Online, which I think might have been wrong), I wrote an email to the Delhi Immigration Office. This was their response:
"Dear xxx,
Thank you for your email.
If you have been issued a Confirmation of Permanent Resident (COPR) document and you have not yet travelled to Canada and had your landing interview, you are still a foreign national. If your counterfoil expires prior to the restrictions being lifted, you do not need to email us as you will receive communication from our office on the next steps to be taken in order to travel to Canada after the travel restrictions have been lifted.
For up-to-date information regarding IRCC’s response to COVID-19, follow us on Facebook. As we are receiving numerous e-mails during this time, please only email us if you CANNOT find the answer through the information and helpful links on our Facebook page."
