Dear All,

Post ITA, is it a good idea to add a one-page cover letter to each of the scanned documents, if there are multiple pages in that document (e.g., passports, bank statements, police certificates), with brief descriptions of the page contents of that document?

Is there a downside to it?

Thanks a bunch!

There is no downside to adding a cover letter to every section. I think everybody should do this as this is a much better way of explanation to specific issues/concerns. I am sure that this works as I have done this myself and have received PPR in less than 2 months. I also had to upload FBI PCC separately (after 90 days deadline) and I added a cover letter for it as well. Goodluck!

There are several schools of thought on the matter. cc31 has provided one. The other is that you shouldn't give IRCC more documents or information to read than they request and need, and that they are more than capable of identifying the documents you've sent them, without a cover letter, as long as you sent them what they requested. I didn't add cover notes to my application, and my application from AOR to PPR took 1 month and 3 days.
But I think the important thing is to choose the option with which YOU are most comfortable and that gives you peace of mind, as that wait between AOR and PPR can be very stressful and doing anything that will make you less worried about the chances of rejection can only benefit you.
Good luck with your application!!!
