I dont see the guide asking us for any cover letter... No offence but, do we really need to make this like a job interview...?
I will use CELPIP-G as language proof. No extra shxt to them.

Good luck to yuo , and me , and everyone here:)

Sometimes its a good idea to write a cover letter if someone needs to describe a situation so that CIC does not come back and ask the same question again.
Basically its a way to clear the doubts of CIC beforehand.

In my case, I had a name change and that's why I wrote the cover letter regarding my name change details and my application was accepted and now I am waiting for my test.

It is always a good practice to write a cover letter. Rare are those cases that comply 100% with the document checklist provided by CIC. Keep in mind that CIC staff is not there to spend time contemplating on your submission, and if you facilitate their job, they will probably feel less burned down. A cover letter is a good mechanism to help CIC staff understand at a glance what you've got for them in the application -DO NOT let them make the assumptions; rather, it should be you who clarifies certain situations. If you choose to write a cover letter, keep it concise and provide only facts (no flatulence).

Guys can anybody share what title, and signature to put on the cover letter.

Thanks.
Title depends upon what you want to describe/

Signature should match exactly the signature as on the application/online residence calculator.

Hi Kuttty,
A cover letter is not considered language proof.
Check here for more info:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/language.asp

You need to have a transcript from your secondary school/high school or university in India which states that English is the language of instruction.

Regarding post-secondary courses in Canada, individual courses are not considered adequate language proof. You would need to provide evidence that you completed the programme and graduated.

In general cover letters are nice, but they are definitely not mandatory. "To Whom It May Concern," is a fine way to address it. This is a form letter I wrote for an RQ response. You could adapt it to the citizenship application if you wish.

I think the checklist can do what you wanna d here already?
Since i provided all the required materials in teh checklist already, just dont know what else should I say there.
Maybe you can give more details of your case as example?

Thanks a lot.

In my case, I included documents not required by the checklist and explained why on a cover letter.
