Course is 2 year Visa is for Seven months, Now?

My son got Student Visa.
His Study program is for 2 years.

He got the Visa stamping up to April 2017 only (May be due to the reason best known to me is - his Passport validity is up to May 2017)
Is this a routine or its a matter of worry for me?

Please guide me guys, it's urgent for me

That is exactly why. They will not issue a visa for a longer period if your passport will expire soon.

But will it create any hurdle or it will have no problem getting Passport and Visa extended from there only, I mean from Canada only?

Correct.
Also, imagine- he has to go to Canad with this soon expiring passport, when in Canada right away to apply for a new one, then by May 2017 he will have to GET a new SP.

Officers on the border just do not like such situations. I do not say he will not be able to get through but you never know in what mood officer on the border will be.

If the odd situation is expected from Canada immigration Deprt, why should they issue the Visa at first place?

So, I am giving hope to myself that, it should be possible to get Passport and Visa Extended after arrival in Canada....

It is an applicant responsibility to think about soon expiring passport when he/she asks for 2 yr visa.

Check with your Embassy in Canada.

To get it by May I would apply in January . Because if the extension does not come in May he well have to leave Canada and apply for SP again from his home country.

so u have to extend ur passport if u have passport extended then u wouldnt need a visa extension if u enter canada before April 2017.
Visa and study permit are two different documents visa is required to enter Canada and study permit is required to legally stay in canada. so as long as ur son has a valid visa while entering and a passport valid for 2+ years he will get a study permit for 2 years + 3 months most likely. You first step is extending passport.

Bottom line is My son can enter easily in Canada with this Visa.
Has to apply for Passport Extension in January 2017
Get visa renewed for next term up to the course duration minimum.
So, at this junction, I can take a sense of relief up to January.
Am I right?
Sorry guys, why I am extending it too much, is only because I have invested most of my saving and of course if anything adverse happen, my son will crash down no doubt.....

Hello ,

Don't worry visa is just for entering Canada as long as you son have valid study permit for two years to study in Canada . He can enter Canada and before expiry of three months of passport , he can apply his passport from Canada with your country consulate and send to Canadian immigration for stamping visa again on new passport , if he wants to visit home country . Otherwise, he can renew passport in Canada but don't need Canadian visa if he is not travelling outside Canada .

You are Welcome , But make sure you son have valid study permit in Canada and if study permit is also expiring with visa expiry , he needs to reapply study permit for sure inside Canada , if he wants to stay in Canada legally otherwise he would be illegal in Canada means no status without study permit .
