We sent our application package by Canada Post Xpresspost from Ottawa

Cost: $19
Package sent: Feb 17
Package received at Sydney, NS: Feb 20

Just wondering why a package from Montreal to NS using the same service arrives after a day and it takes 3 days from Ottawa to NS where Montreal and Ottawa are less than 2 hour drive...weird

Sent using Purolator on Feb 17th delivered on 18th. $23 from Toronto downtown.

Based on latest information, I think you will miss the deadline for C24:

That's based on the assumption that the deadline is June 19th, 2015. But we really don't know for sure when the deadline really kick in. It could be anywhere from June 19th to July 1st.

oldfriend still has a chance to get the application (very slim chance) in under the old rule before new rules kick in if the deadline is July 1st. The only way oldfriend would know for sure is to wait for the official deadline date. If July 1st is the deadline, it would mean oldfriend would have to complete and sign the application on June 29th (the day after 1095 days reached, date June 28th) and have it delivered next day to land at the CIC office on June 30.

I have used UPS for the PR sponsorship application. When the time comes to submitting for Canadian citizenship, I will likely go with Canada Post Xpress Post since I want to track it. As notalawyer mentioned a good point, since the wait is long and doesn't really affect the person's daily life routine, there's no hurry for mail to get to office.

Canadapost, regular and slowest . . . I knew I was going to wait for months, so why the rush. :D

I want to send the application on Wednesday May 27th very early in the morning from Montreal do you guys think it will get to NS by Friday afternoon May29th. cost is not an issue.

The reason I am asking is if the new law get applied on June 1st then the last day to receive the application is Friday May 29th or do they accept deliveries in the weekend?

Also can we ask from a signature from CIC receptionist?

Check with fedex too for the options

canada post is cheap but it cause us 460$

my story:
CIC sent back out papers and we received it Dec 24, 2014. We sent it back thru Canada Post Priority and supposed to be 1 day delivery. But they delivered it Jan 2, 2015. and the new fee took effect Jan 1, 2015. We need to pay the new fee adjustment for 2 adults. should have sent it thru other courier.

1 day delivery only applies to major urban areas. As CIC is located far away, the delivery can't be done in 1 day. I have sent my documents through Fedex and that's how i found this information.

fedex doesnt provide 1 day delivery to CIC office. But UPS and Puralotor does.

That's very true. I sent by documents through FedEx and learnt that the next day delivery to Sydney NS is not possible. As guaranteed, my documents were delivered on the following day. I haven't tried UPS or Purolator myself, but my experience with FedEx have always been very good (PR and citizenship applications) though it is an expensive option.

It depends upon the originating location.

As leeneljane is from vancouver (as per his/her profile), I tried UPS online website as well as purolator and next day delivery is not possible. If we schedule on 8th of April, it will deliver on 10th of April.

Yes may be; but from ontario they do have next day service - puroator or ups
