If you apply for a new work permit before your old one expires, you can continue to work on "implied status" (under the same conditions as your previous work permit) until you receive a reply from CIC on your work permit application.

OK this is news to me... So how would I go about doing this. someone mentioned above in the thread that I should apply for BOWP via the paper method as opposed to online as it takes longer, and by the time it comes through I should have my AOR.
How does it work with my SIN number etc. as that expires on 26th December the same as my current work permit.
Do I need to visit Service Canada to get my SIN number expiry date renewed, will they want to see my AOR (which I don't have) as proof I have an application for BOWP in progress

Sorry for the questions, I just want to get this straight so I know whats best to do

I suggest you start another thread for how to apply BOWP , and I am sure , there are lots of posts about it, maybe you can find answer directly.

now that the time is critical, you can also send personal message directly to some seniors who knows the details.

While you are under implied status, you can work under expired SIN. Once your status has been updated, you can bring your new immigration document to Service Canada for the SIN record to be updated with the new expiry date.
