ALso, i have another question - will i loose the $ 550 if my application is refused?

Yes.

do u think its worth giving it a try ? please advice.

If you have no other option (no possibility of returning to Canada and working more) and you really want to try to immigrate to Canada, it might be worth a try if you can get a SOLID letter of employment (all required details). But understand it would be a gamble and you might lose that application fee. For what it's worth, I would consider that to be one year, but I'm not a VO.

How did you get paid? By month or by week? Did you get paid for the same amount for October and November for example? Because October 3rd is a Monday, people who start on Oct 1st would also officially start working on the 3rd. You can somehow explain this in the cover letter.

My friend has a work experience from Sep 1st, 2010 - Dec 31st, 2011 but his post graduate work permit was from 26 Aug, 2010 - 27 Aug, 2011. He got his LMO approved and got another work permit for same employer in oct, 2011. Is he eligible to apply even if he was on implied status from 28th Aug, 2011 - Oct, 2011?

I think implied status are legal status so it should count. And even if it does not, he has a total of 16 months, minus two months implied, still 14 months left and more than the requirement.

I am not an authority, but it seems you don't have any other options to increase your days of work if you have already left Canada. A cover letter could address the "apparent" deficiency by clearly stating that you worked 52 weeks from Monday xxxxx to Friday xxxxxx, X number of days as evidenced by whatever official documents you have. If your normal work week was Monday to Friday and you had a 12 month work permit you would have been out of status if you had reported to work on the Monday following your last Friday of work, wouldn't you? Don't forget you would also be entitled to vacation time during those 52 weeks according to Labour Standards. Did you take them or were your vacation days paid out? Good luck.

@ winterfox

actually the reference letter only mentions the start date and end date. Thw number of hours worked is not mentioned and they have a standard format and will not be able to make exceptions to mention this...however i have my offer letter which i think mentions 40 hours a week. ALso i have my pay stubs.

to anwer ur second question - the reason i am short of 2 days is , i actually had my work permit valid until the 5th of oct 2012, but i chose to wind up quickly and chose oct 1st as my last working day , however i left canada only on the 3rd of oct. At that point of time CEC was 24 months eligibility and it really did not occur to me that , the 2 days would be such a big issue...

hello guys,

i am 2 days short of 12 months work experience, but i have sufficient work hours (40hrs / week). Landing and exit date is more than 12 months..

will this be a cause for rejection ? is it worth giving it a try , please advice.

thanks
Hi,

All depends on you if you want to make your life in Canada :) I would say you should give it a try as you had spent almost one year in Canada. And so many people are suggesting to do so. At initial when they go through the application and if they think that you are not even eligible to apply!!! ??? They will definitely refuse the application and there is no charge for refusal. But you will have to bear IELTS, PCC and other fees.
