I am trying to fill out the Express Entry form on the CIC website.

Under 'Personal Information' section, and under sub-section 'ID-Summary' - I have a question regarding my Passport, which is 'Country/Territory of Issue'.

I am an Indian citizen with an Indian passport but recently, my Indian passport was renewed from Indian Embassy in New York, USA (I have been in the US for a few years now).

My question was - for the 'Country/Territory of Issue' question - should I answer India or USA ? I would appreciate an immediate response. Thank you!

I believe you should put India, but I am not 100% sure. Wait for others to reply.

Your passport don't have country of issue in the bio-metric page?

But - In my Indian passport, 'Place of Issue' is mentioned as 'New York'. Will CIC have an issue if I report 'India' instead of 'USA' ?

I do understand the logic behind it but just wanted to ask you one more time.
