That's another way to do it. However, for me, adding Pakistan as country of education worked fine.

I'm also in a similar situation. I have done a UK qualification (BCS) from Sri Lanka. My ECA has the credential as a UK one, I think it should be ok. In my e-APR I have mentioned that I completed the qualification in Sri Lanka.
I never went to UK for studies but studied at a partner institution.
Do you think I should put {by correspondence} as per the below guidelines?

  • Applicants are instructed to indicate that their education was completed by correspondence by typing in brackets {by correspondence} on the same line as the education institution name found in the Education Background Information tab of GCMS. The discretion remains with the officer to decide if a police certificate is required for the country of the education institution

What was the country mentioned in your ECA?
What is the status of your application now

It's for the PCC, I added the country where I was studying physically (so home country) and mentioned it in LOE so they don't ask for a PCC. I'm at IP2 and I got the "no more documents needed" so I guess it's fine. You can also elaborate on that in your general LOE. Good luck!

Thanks for the prompt reply ! What I have already indicated in my EE profile before receiving the ITA is Institution - BCS country - Sri Lanka. I also think this should be fine with a LOE.

Or else one could mention it as:
Institution - BCS {by correspondence} country - Sri Lanka or
Institution - BCS {by correspondence} country - UK

No you can't mention UK because then they'll ask for a PCC that's the entire point.

I stand corrected, there are reported cases where applications have been canceled due to not providing PCCs for countries mentioned in the educational background.

Provided that country is mentioned as Sri Lanka, I reckon what I'm looking for is the exact situations one should use {by correspondence}. Whether not including it when required will cause any misrepresentation of facts.

I consulted a lawyer on this and he told me to put the country/town of the university in education section and then under personal history put your home country and in LOE explain that as it was a distance learning education so that why I put the information as I have.

Hi ,

What is the status of your application now? Did you get PPR ?

I lodged my application and now it seems to be at IP2 and I have also gotten 'no additional documents needed' status.

Hi Guys,

I have completed both my Advance Level and Bachelors from UK institutions and in my EE profile I mentioned my educational details as follow;

Institution: Pearson Edexcel, UK --- Country of Study: Sri Lanka
Institution: University of Westminster --- Country of Study: Sri Lanka

Note that Institutions named here were the ones WES recognized as my certificate/degree awarding bodies. Although, I physically studied at registered centers of those awarding bodies and my transcripts which I presented to WES have those details mentioned.

I have received an ITA and I'm doing the preparation. Should I continue with the same details? Is it necessary for me to add {by correspondence} along with the name of institution and provide a LOE?

Could you tell me what you did with regards to this? Also, what was the country of education given in your ECA?

I have my ACCA and OBU, partly studied in Pakistan and partially in UAE as I was working. What should I mention, one for Pakistan other for UAE. Have PCC for both.

ECA has mentioned country as UK.

Hi guys,

I also got the same situation. My university was in Australia but I studied in Vietnam campus. Now I already submitted online application for PR after getting iTA but I forgot to explain it in the LOE.

What should I do now to explain to the IRCC? Please help advise. Thank you.
