"country of study" field in EE for distance learning programs - URGENT

Hey Folks,

I have done ACCA from Pakistan but the country of the certificate issuing authority is United Kingdom. Now I am confused what to write in 'Country of study' field while filling my EE profile. Pakistan OR UK ?

I would say Pakistan as you studied in Pakistan. The location of the institute isn't the main criteria IMO. I may be wrong but I think this way because Canada doesn't award points for education completed through Canadian institute overseas. Canada awards points for Canadian education completed in Canada.

For filling in EE you should choose Pakistan as 'Country of Study' as you were physically present in Pakistan while doing it.

I am an ACCA member myself. I did the same.

Also, what did you enter in year of study (start date and end date) for ACCA ?

I started ACCA in DEC 2010 and became ACCA affiliate on june 2013 and was admitted as ACCA member in Jan 2016. I am not sure if I should enter 2013 or 2016 as ending year for ACCA. Please advise

I am not expert in this but I would write the U.K. as the country of study and write a LOE and supply the necessary documents to prove it was a distance program.

Applicants are instructed to indicate that their education was completed by correspondence by typing in brackets {by correspondence} on the same line as the education institution name found in the Education Background Information tab of GCMS. The discretion remains with the officer to decide if a police certificate is required for the country of the education institution.

I think you should mention Pakistan as you could be asked to provide a UK PCC and UK PCC are only issued to those who have lived in the UK.

Throughout the process I used my Membership date.

Hi - I stated by the country where I studied. But the actual name of the university was stated under name of University. If needed at the point of e-APR they would ask you to verify the details via a LOE.

You should select Sri Lanka as that was your country while you were studying. My application is in IP2 stage right now. Expecting PPR soon!

I was confused, cause I read somewhere that country of education should be UK and should mention {by correspondence} in front of the Institutions name.

That's another way to do it. However, for me, adding Pakistan as country of education worked fine.
