HELLO, ALL,

I am just wondering which countries have no exit controls when leaving a country? for example, Canada and the States do no have exit controls. I know the UK have the option, but do not frequently enforce it.

Any other countries?

Thanks

From my personal experience, Canada and the UK don't have exit controls. However, I have once been spot-checked manually by an immigration officer when exiting the UK (however he did not stamp my passport with 'exit' or anything).

i'm not sure what exit controls are. The US and Canada are now sharing information, so Canada will know when you enter the US and vice versa. This program was set to roll out this month I believe, and i know that at least 1 border started this back in march. Does that count as an exit control?

I believe the OP means when an immigration check is carried out when exiting a country. E.g, when exiting Pakistan, you'll get an 'exit' stamp on your airport as well. This is not the case when exiting Canada.

the reason I am asking is that certain countries do not allow dual citizenship, therefore, the only way to keep the original nationality is to go through a country that does not impose exit control. you are right, the US and Canada will commence the second phase of exchanging information ONLY AIMING TO LANDED IMMIGRANT, but not to naturalized citizens.
