Guys,

I have a question. If i start working as a full time job right after my education (grace period), and continue working after i get my PGWP, will the 3 months grace period work experience counts ? Or is it from the day you get your work permit ?

Thanks for your time.

It will count from the day you are confirmed as completed program requirement by your university. You can use your Letter of Confirmation of Graduation date which is generally the most earliest. This usually takes a month after completing all the exams and all results to be complied. Thus i do not think you can start working form next day of exams and have it counted. But you can count work experience since the date you are confirmed by Univ to have completed your program requirements.

P.S. I used also 1.5 months of OCWP experience towards my CEC application.

Hi Mesumrizvi

I am having some confusion. I was working as full time after I got a confirmation letter from my University stating that I have completed all the program requirements. I don't know if I can count implied status work as a work experience towards my CEC application.

Study permit with Off-campus permit expiry: 31-March-15
Got completion letter from University: 12-Dec-14
Started working as full time: 5-January 2015
Applied for my PGWP: 29-January-15
Was on implied status from 1-April-15 to July-15
Approved PGWP: July-15 (due to slow process)
Work permit expiry: July-16
LMIA (PR Support) expiry : Oct-16

My employer helped me getting an LMIA (PR support LMIA) to fetch enough points for PR invitation. Now, If I count my implied status work experience I am eligible to submit my application right away but I am not sure if I suppose to count that. Also, If I wait for july to complete my one year work experience, my work permit will expire and I wont be able to work.

Can you please guide me on that since you have already passed this phase. Thanks :)

You cannot apply trough CEC until, at least, one year after PGWP was issued, so July-August 2016.

So you'll have to apply for closed WP based on approved LMIA before LMIA expires and BEFORE your PGWP expires to still working here legally.

Unfortunately you cannot use your experience under Student Permit, just after PGWP issue date.

Just wait until have a little bit more than one year working on NOC B, A or 0, after PGWP issue.

Keep an eye open for PNP graduated programs, perhaps you can apply through some PNP program, before wait 1 year for CEC.
